WORST SALON I EVER VISITED – I went to this salon to get my hair trimmed and hilighted before my college graduation. The first sylist i had seemed nice enough but was too busy with other clients. She put the hilights in my hair (which took an hour) and then set me under a dryer in a separate room. 10, 20, 30, 45 mins went by and i started to get nervous, i didnt see my stylist anywhere and everyone running around me was too busy to listen to me.
Another 10 or 15 mins went by until a lady needing the dryer asked who my stylist was, when i told her she looked scared and said she'd be right back.
Turned out, my sylist forgot about me and left for the day. Next thing I know, there was a manager and two stylists looking at my hair, saying "we need to get her rinsed, now"
While rinsing, hair was falling out everywhere and i started crying. The manager said it was just a little breakage not to worry. They decided they were going to have to cut my hair because of the damage, i lost sooo much hair, the more they brushed, the more that came out.
The worst part is that I didn't feel I should've had to pay for the services and I was completely horrified about the way I looked but they forced me to pay for the dye and cut, they wouldn't let me leave untill I did.
NEVER GO HERE!
Not so good...50 50 shot – The stylist was okay, but my hair took twenty minutes and it looked like a big poof behind my bangs. My make-up took about the same amount of time. It was 80's style, with thick eye pencil on the top and bottom of my eyes. No blending was done and it looked a little scary. The stylist only went from the outside of my eye to the middle, which made me look really scary. Also I had two small blemishes that weren't even covered up. I felt pretty bad and just wanted to go home so I could fix myself before my brother's wedding. My sister-in -law on the other hand had a very nice stylist who talked to her about the wedding. Her hair took at least an hour and was beautiful. You could tell she knew what she was doing with her make-up also. I am glad that the bride looked great. I however wanted that same feeling since I was paying for it.
URBAN CREATIONS IS HORRIBLE!!!!! – ok first of all where the heck do they get there stylists? I think they just hire people out of school because a girl there did my hair and it took 4 1/2 hours and I left looking the same as when I came in!! They still made me pay a TON of money for what I HATED!! They never told me that they moved to a new location which is really hard to find and soooo out of the way I will never waste my gas again. You pay a ton of money for nothing. Fantastic sams would be better then this place. PLEASE dont waste your time or money. I'm sure there are other salons around that would do a great job. This isnt one of them! BEWARE!!!!
Great new location – Have been going to urban for a few years now. They keep improving with time. They know how to treat a customer at all times from the receptionist who answers the phone to the one who checks me in and to the stylist. Their new location is wonderful and warm and inviting. Give them a new call at 734-942-3000
HORRIBLE – Wow this place is like a beauty school from the early 80's if you are up to date and trendy I would not go here.
Not that great – where do i start. Well the place was dead (should have been the first clue) but i figuired it was a slow day so i would still give it a try . Not the kind of salon i would usually go to and wont be back. The stylist that cut my hair was not stylish at all and didnt seem to know what she was doing. Very pricey for a salon like this. More like a great clips . Wont be back. Hope this helps
WHERE IS EMILY?????? – Well, I went their and found a stylist EMILY who I really liked. My daughter and I were set to have our hair done next week for her shower and I got a call that she up and quit. If anyone knows where she went please let me know!
Lacking. – I have been on an endless hunt to find to professional stylist and have found no ligt at the end of the tunnel with this salon. I dont under stand, granted I am not trained in this profession why in the world a highlight job can not be taken all the way to the roots, no this is the reason I visited this salon to lose my roots. Now I only had a partial however when I pull my hair back was well as my bangs I have atleast a 1/4 inch of root all the way around my face. To say the least I am not impressed. I cant say I was overly taken aback by the salon it self ither. I recived a compltmentary shower form the shampoo girl as well. Unfortunately i will not be revisiting this salon. Best of luck to you! And agin this is a single experance, however first impressions speak voulmes.
Just ok – Went to Urban over the weekend and was disappointed with my service. The place is clean but not very trendy and its not a high end salon but they charge like they are. I will keep looking for a salon that can give me what i want .
Love the Hair! – I love the fact that I called that morning and was able to get in. Loved the one on one time I had with the stylist. She listened to what I wanted and needed and expressed my concerns and the outcome of my new hairstyle was awesome! I will go back for sure....don't know what the other negative responses where about...the salon is trendy and " up to date". I didn't see any workers over 35 that I could tell! Finally I found somewhere downriver to go to. I will go back again! I have had paid way more and had worst outcomes. Thanks Urban Creations!
