African Hair Braiding (Hated it)

I had an appointment on 12-27 with Elise at 9:00 a.m. to get my niece hair braided for her birthday. I waited 15 minutes and called her and said I confirmed my appointment with you on 12-26 since you never returned my call on 12-23 to confirm. She said yes I went to my shop this morning and I have no power, she said could you come to my apartment. Elise lied because the barbershop right next door to her had power but since we had no other choice we went to her apartment so my niece could get her hair braided. We get to her apartment and Elise tells me I bought the wrong hair when I CLEARLY ASKED "what hair do you feel is best", synthetic or human hair. She told me it didn't matter, so I bought human hair. As Elise kept talking she says that with human hair it'll take all day to braid (this is why she didn't want to use the human hair). She tells us that if she braided with human hair it would not look right. I've had my niece hair braided several times with human hair so she KNOWS NOT WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT!!! We then had to leave to go buy synthetic hair. They (her nieces), not Elise finally get started on my niece hair at 10:15. Since Elise is having her nieces do the braiding she needs to explain to them that putting their clients hair in their mouth as they're braiding is very UNPROFESSIONAL!!! The two working on my niece hair were pulling so hard they made my niece cry. If a PROFESSIONAL was hurting their client they would've made an attempt to please their client. Elise had 4 small kids in the apartment that she was watching and she was screaming at them the whole time we were there. If we had to come to her then she should of been respectful of us (her clients). Elise and African Hair Braiding company is very UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I will NEVER recommend her to ANYONE and I will NEVER go back to AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING EVER AGAIN!!! I will make sure to let everyone know about Elise and the way she handled this situation.

Horrible – I got my hair done here right before spring break last year. I got there at 9 am like requested. I sat there for about 1/2 waiting for them to show up. I was ok... I understand sometimes things go wrong in the morning. She then proceeded to start eating before she even started with my hair. It was unprofessional. So finally she started but after a few braids she says it would be a lot faster if she were to use nail glue to seal off the ends of the braids. I said whatever for her to go ahead. She says she doesn't have any so I would have to go to the store and buy some, along with some other hair gel. I was furious. I'd been there for a little over on hour and pretty much nothing had been done.

When I talked to her on the phone the day before she told me one price and then tried to charge me $50 more after she was done. I got there at 9 am and didn't get done until 11 pm. I KNOW it's not suppose to take that long. it's a max of 7 hours and a min of 6. I don't have that much hair.

And I agree. The language they were speaking is a variation of French. Because I caught somethings that they were saying. It's rude and unprofessional.

Going there isn't worth your time and money. I don't recommend it.

they are so mean1 – Ok so i went to get my hair braided and i requested that they braid past my hair since i was keeping the micros for about 3 or 4 months. the lady tells me ok but only do it in the front where i can see like im not go look in the back or something. then when she was about half way done i asked her about it and she got mad at me and then her and 4 other ladies started talking about me in an unknown african language. not only that, they tried to change the price when i got there also. i would not recommend them to anyone, your bette off going to detroit to get your hair braided then going to them. at least it would be worth it!
