Like Authentic? Then you'll LOVE this! – I've eaten here a number of times and have had a lot of the dishes -- I have yet to be disappointed with anything I've eaten. I've lived in a number of states where "Authentic" Mexican is advertised a lot, including California and Texas, but this restaurant has got to be my favorite -- it's not a chain so they can make the food how they want and not how a corporate office interprets "Authentic."

The Serving Staff is excellent and always very friendly and attentive. You always get a basket of hot chips with a very tasty salsa to begin - if you like some extra heat you can ask for the fresh pico de gallo. Lunch specials come with a cup of soup - the chicken vegetable and chicken tortilla are both excellent with the tortilla being a touch towards the spicy side. Lunch specials are very well priced and come out to you hot, fresh and quick.

Dinners and regular meal selections from the menu are bigger and almost all come with rice and beans. The Chicken Milanese is outstanding! The burritos, flautas, chimichangas, enchiladas and tacos (shrimp and steak are both great!) are all dishes I've tried and were all large portions at a very reasonable price.

Let's talk about dessert now...they have a few desserts including fried ice cream which is excellent and a delicious Tres Leches Cake (Three Milk Cake) which is soooooo moist, but my favorite is the Flan - it's the best I've ever tasted and is baked fresh, not purchased from another bakery!

I found this restaurant in February of 2011 and will be going there for years to come! Become a regular there and you won't regret it.

Fantastic! – Fantastic food! I travel from Southfield, Mi. Just to eat their good tasting food.

Some of the best Tex-Mex in Metro Detroit! – The building is easy to miss if you're not careful, but the food is worth seeking out this little slice of Mexico in Metro Detroit. The food is comparable to the taquerias and restaurants I frequented while living in San Antonio, TX. Hot chips and fresh salsa (easily the best in Detroit) are served before the meal, but watch out! It's easy to fill up on these outstanding appetizers. Here's a tip: sprinkle the salt/paprika/spice mix onto the chips for extra flavor -- just like in Mexico. I've sampled numerous items from the menu, but as a fajita and taco fan, I prefer the steak fajitas and tacos al carbon. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating and the intimate, but brightly decorated dining room, make for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is their lack of a liquor license. Cold beer or a margarita would be the perfect complement to a New Mexico meal. However, if you let that deter you, you'll miss out on one of the best kept dining secrets in the area.

No passport needed – New Mexico restaurant is a small unassuming little place (recently expanded) that's a little tricky to locate but even more tricky to drive pass once you've found it that offers "authentic" (I love that word) Mexican food.

A prompt greeting when you arrive is the norm here. Comfortable "authentic" surroundings with meal selections presented on a great looking menu (do check the "special board" for more good eats).

The service is excellent . Even when very busy service does not fail you and your satisfaction is always numeral uno. Requests do not offend and server suggestions create great new meal adventures.

The salsa is the best, yep, the best. Always fresh and served with hot chips before the meal.

Great food, shrimp tacos (a must), "whole" ( yep, eyes and head) fried red snapper or tilapia, tortilla soup, meatball soup, caldo soup (a bowl you could swim in). Ordering is easy because it's all food is fantastic (tip: save room for the three milk cake or strawberry shortcake.)

I took two "authentic" Mexican people here and both raved highly about it. One of which had family that owned and operated a Mexican restaurant in California 30+ years ago (when it was more "authentic"?).

A Brazilian friend enjoyed a great meal here and would have never ate a..."dulled down...bland and mediocre" (as some have reviewed) meal with delight. This restaurant is not like some others. This place is the real deal with real good food. The friendly owners and staff here do a excellent job of giving this gringo who doesn't have a passport a fighting chance to enjoy real Mexican food without having to pass through customs or drive all the way to Detroit for mediocre meal adventures. Thanks, New Mexico !

Nope, no margaritas or beer served here but, that just leaves more room for me to enjoy "authentic" Mexican three milk cake, Ole'!
