Sweet Dive Bar!.
If you look up "dive bar" in the dictionary there is a picture of Scoot. It has everything you need: shabby interior, faded wallpaper, pendulum light fixtures with dusty yellow bulbs, a large movie screen that is constantly playing some sort of film to tickle your pickle.
You need to play skee ball when you go here.
They have Irish whiskey. And it is CHEAP. Plus they have my favorite Texas beer on TAP, Fireman #4. Plus other good stuff that I won't reveal because you need to go and you want a surprise.
They also have an outdoor stage that plays some pretty cool stuff. Hopefully you are already heading to the Scoot as you finish reading this.
Hip live acts, a laid-back atmosphere and a massive outdoor beer garden make this old-fashioned bar a favorite with locals..
In Short
With a storied roadhouse pedigree pointing back through Prohibition to 1871, the establishment claims it is the longest running beer joint in Central Texas. The small, unassuming bar definitely wears its history. Casual Eastsiders and hipsters kick back amidst the red bordello wallpaper, dark woods and concrete floor, while other drinkers retire to the assorted patio furniture in the massive backyard beer garden. Live music and special theme nights keep this old-timer kicking.
