New "Big Box" decor not for me. – Frenzied and frenetic come to mind when describing the new Rocco location in Edina. Have I been voted out of their demographic? I do not want to feel as if I am getting my hair done in the middle of a Target Super store - maybe that appeals to the young. The noise level is loud and the florescent lighting is louder.
Apparently part of the new "open feel" requires daily movement of work stations. Perhaps I am from a bygone era, but I think a man getting his hair colored should be allowed the dignity of a chair in the back - not across from the reception desk. I don't want the public to participate in my grooming, nor do I want to participate in theirs. I like to get my eyebrows colored and the process is not pretty (think Groucho Marx painted by Salvador Dali) - no one should have to see that.
I have been very satisfied with the services offered, but now I have to endure the new atmosphere? Maybe the construction is not completed...
I would have submitted my comments in a more private forum if the Rocco website had a place to submit comments. Can you create a quiet room for those of us who get their daily dose of chaos before we arrive in your salon?
By the way, the four stars are for your employees, not your new building.
Simply Perfect – I have been seeing Sandy in the Mpls. salon for over 15 years. She simply does a perfect job with my hair. I have enjoyed the complements that it has brought me both professionally and personally. Let's face it, your hair matters, even for men.
She is always bright and energetic, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great hair stylist. In fact, I have both a friend and family who see her.
Ah-mazing! – So I needed a haircut and color really really bad. My usual salon was closed that day so I happened to see this salon and it looked decent so i went in. It was really nice because I got into a chair right away. My stylist was wonderful and the results were even more amazing. My color lasted VERY long. I was actually surprised at how long it stayed in. And, the cut was just what I wanted.I can't complain about anything. All I can say is it is definitely worth the money.
There are too many salons to chose from, DO NOT GO HERE – I wanted to try a new color. so they made me do a treatment(which cost me money) and then never even colored it cause the colorist didn't feel comfortable. I have healthy hair, so it couldn't be cause of that.
They don't even blow dry your hair for u unless a stylist is open, but they never are for some reason. I saw the stylists standing around, but I guess they didnt care to blow dry me. We live in MN! It gets REALLY cold out! Who wants to spend that kind of money and NOT blown out?? WASTE OF MY DAY!!!! AND MONEY!!!
This salon might have been the place to go years ago, but not anymore. I am going to take my money elsewhere and I advise you to do the same!!!!!
Editorial Review – Midwestern salon and spa offers massages, nail services and hair cutting, texturing and coloring in a minimalist black-and-white environment.
great brow and bikini wax here! – my experiance getting waxed at this salon was terrific. the esthecain was helpful and friendly, she gave me tips on how to take care of my tender brow skin and bikini area after the wax. i had never been told this info. before. i also found the front desk staff to be energetic and helpful.overall...great experiance!
I am in a hurry because in forty minutes, my boyfriend is coming in from out of town and my neglected brows are reaching Grouchian proportions. I need a brow wax. Bad.
At Rocco, an extremely tan lady applies wax to my left brow. Rip. Off goes one strip. Then another. Suddenly, she's looking at me a bit wild-eyed. Strange. But I don't think much of it. She finishes the right eye, hands me the mirror, and informs me, "a little skin lifted."
I'm not too concerned. Had this done a million times before. Initial redness is to be expected. Then I see it. A bright red, 2 inch long, raw chunk. It looks like a dog chomped me in the eyelid. It's already starting to weep. Extremely tan lady blurts, "It will heal super quick."
I don't know the definition of "super quick" but it's been four days. I just dropped my boyfriend at the airport. He's halfway back to Boston, but the bright red scab on my eyelid doesn't look like it's going anywhere.
Brow wax? $18. Neosporin? $5.29. Looking like Al Pacino in Scarface? Priceless.
Look Like June Clever In One Hour – High profile salon in a high profile area with low end workers. Really disappointed by their coloring staff, went in for a tint to cover a few stray grays. Spent $70 (inc. of tip) and the colour lasted no more then five days. They can do amazing buffonts & other retro/aging styles quite well. Stylists pocket 50% of the cost paid by client plus tips and can have anywhere from five to seven customers at one time. They don't spent enough time with the customer, they don't listen to the customer, and they work on too many clients at one time. Their colorists need to be trained in client customer relationships, time management, and doing their work properly. The colourist seems to be more interested in gossiping with other stylists. Once again, high profile salon in a high profile area with low end workers.
