Tips for Sonny's Restaurant
Bad customer service for such expensive pizza. We were frequent diners and take out customers from Sonny's, they have some of the best Pizza in town. My sister, a vegetarian, was visiting and we decided to order a few pizza's and intorduce her to Sonnys, after driving over 20 minutes to pick it up (limited delivery area) and then back home again we found her veggie pizza had meat on it (after she ate a few pieces). We called them back and had to literally argue over the phone to convince them that yes they did put meat on the pizza. They did offer to deliver a new one, however only after we told them we wanted our money back or for them to deliver it. Not sure who taught them customer service skills, but it was not the Italians of this world.
Great food - locally. I happened across Sonny's by accident. While in town traveling, I set out looking for Itlalian and Found Sunnys. The food was top notch, home made food and it was excellent! The store is filled with horse racing pictures, Sonny owns a few race horses I guess, and again, the food is excellent. It's worth the the trip over near the airport. The staff is friendly and helpful...and did I say the food was good? It is!
The Best Ever. I must say, I was a little skeptical about taking my date to this restaurant next to a walgreens. But i am now addicted to the mouth watering food sonny's provides. I have been going there for about a year now and i must say that i never had one bad meal from this place yet. Even the desserts are homade. from homade Granita to ther various flavors of cheese cake. This is a must try for any lover of italian food.
Simple menu works well for Sonny's. Give Sonny's owner credit for a smart marketing strategy! A smaller, simpler menu of italian food classics done right. Some may be turned off by Sonny's 'another strip mall' location wedged between Walgreens and Morningfields. But, I give the management credit for getting maximum results out of this cozy place. It's tasefully decorated, dishes are priced smack-dab in the middle price range, and thier selection of white and red wines is precise. Most importantly, the food is very good. Bread, soups and salads are always consistent. Chicken, pasta and vegetarian dishes are tasty. A very good veal parmigan, the grilled asparagus is a nice touch!) My only complaint is the unavaliavility of their breaded stuffed artichoke which seems to be seasonal. As far as specials, I suggest you go with their fresh catches.
Surprisingly Good.
This place is tucked in next to a Walgreens in a strip mall, but generally, the food couldnt be better. They expanded, so there are many tables. Great for lunch: the salad plate let you choose up to 3 different salads. Tasty pastas, and really good NY style za. (The sauce could be kicked up a bit)
Consistent, reliable and stylish-even for a strip mall!
