I've never had such a hard time dealing with a company before..
Here is my story. It is long but gives you a good look into how this business is run:
My car got broken into. Both front windows smashed in. Insurance company sent me to Gerber to get the glass replaced. Glass was replaced next day in the morning. The guy who replaced my window told me
"I couldnt get all the glass out of the doors. you may hear some glass bouncing around in there when you open and close them. Also the windows are aftermarket so they may not roll down and up the same as before.. give them time for the rubber and such to adjust to them." seemed kinda strange but whatever.
2 days after the brand new windows were installed i went to roll down my driver side window. There was a lot of grinding and a loud pop and it stopped working.
I called, was transferred to the warranty department and the lady told me she could have someone out to take a look "tomorrow morning" and that i should "expect a call".... I stayed home from work that morning expecting a call bright and early. No call by 11am. I decided to call them to see what was going on. I was told that the warranty lady "had computer problems" and didn't put any information regarding the inspection into the system.. Instead of putting my information in and making an effort to fix their mistake, they put me in queue behind "7 other jobs" ahead of mine that got put into the system that day and was told he could be "at my house at 6-8:30 that night" i refused and asked if i could drop the car off at the Gerber shop the next morning.
They then asked how early i could drop the car off because the earlier it was there the earlier they could get to it. I dropped it off at the shop at 830, right after they opened. I got a call at about 10 am from the man who was supposed to work on my car. He told me that he would not be able to make it there by "LATE AFTERNOON". I said whatever as long as it gets done today. At about 1:30 pm i didnt her anything back from him so I CALLED HIM. He told me he was about 3 hours out and would probably not make it to the shop in time to look at my car.......
I called Gerber. Asked to be transferred to a supervisor 6 times. They would just try and switch the subject. Never got connected to a supervisor... The last person to help me told me "ok i am going to move you ahead of 3 other jobs he has scheduled and he should make it out there before the shop closes." Shouldn't this have been done the first time when they forgot to put my information in the system? or when he told be he would get him to the shop first thing in the morning?
So he finally made it to the shop and called me back to tell me "the distributor in the door is broken due to the break in and it needs to be replaced." The next day i got a call from the Gerber call center saying the same thing and said they would order the parts and have it fixed ASAP. Ok it seems like i finally am getting some help.
Today, 2 days after i was told the part would be ordered, i heard nothing. So i decided to call my insurance company to see if they have been contacted by gerber for ordering the part. No contact from gerber. No invoice for parts. Nothing. I just got off the phone with the guy at the Gerber call line. He said "Yea we still need to order the part." i said "dont bother. I will take my care to somewhere that will actually fallow through"
I've never been so disappointing in my life. I've never dealt with a company with such an amazing lack of communication and sense of urgency.
Never take your car to Gerber if you want it done quickly and correctly the first time. Ever.
Good to Go with Gerber – My insurance company recommended using Gerber to repair damage to my car. I found a bunch of good reviews about other locations but not Woodinville. My experience with them was great, from estimate to completion. They kept in contact with me and my car was finished early - love it!
