Waste of money! – My husband and I recently took our 17 month old boys to eat at Pallino. We wanted to eat at a family friendly restaurant with decent food. First of all, the staff wasn't friendly at all. No one greeted us or explained the ordering process to us. The open space was a plus for the kids (hence the one star rating), but the food was beyond horrible. I have had better in a hospital cafeteria! We ordered meatballs, mac & cheese, spaghetti, and an entree salad. I couldn't have been more disappointed with the food. Everything tasted completely bland and processed. The quality of the meat was appalling and downright gross. My husband's spaghetti was luke warm and watery. You can tell they use cheap cans of sauce that come in bulk. The bread was dry and tasteless, and my salad was limp and wilted. Honestly, we couldn't believe our tab was even $30.00 after such an experience. I am surprised this place is still in business and would NEVER take my family there again.
Great Food for the Money – I used to go to Pallino Pastaria whenever I was in the UVillage but now I mostly go to the one in the Columbia Tower. There's something that always sounds good about an excellent soup and sandwich. The Italian Wedding Soup is SO good- rich and hearty and the bread they serve with it is great. It is kind of a cafeteria setting- but its convenient and quick. Great value for your money- you can get a great lunch for $6!
Save your money! Wait for a Noodles & Co. to come to town. – Ok, so it is my own fault.... I went back! This restaurant is just plan bad. Service was friendly both times, but the food is mediocre at best and value for your money is non-existent. If you do decide to go here, expect cafeteria quality pasta and way overpriced add-ons like meatballs or sausage.
Machine-made pasta surprises with its consistent quality. – In Short
Key to Pallino's vision is a machine from Switzerland that portions, cooks and drains a serving of pasta in 90 seconds; kids love the "pasta rocket" for the name as much as parents appreciate the speedy delivery. The pasta is available as thin spaghetti, cheese ravioli or chicken tortellini, and is topped with one of fifteen sauces that the staff prepares on the spot. Grilled panini, salads and sweets round out the menu.
