AVOID AT ALL COST. My wife just left
here in TEARS.
She's had appointment for over a week to deal with a painful eye issue that's interfering with her ability to drive, work, and function. But apparently the eye doctor with whom she had the appointment decided to retire. Which wouldn't have been a problem, except that the West Seattle-Highline office staff didn't do anything about it. They. Did. Nothing. At. All.
The office staff never reached out to my wife to inform her that the appointment they set just over a week ago was cancelled, even though they had her phone number and contact information. So she showed up expecting to have an appointment and solution for her pain and left with... nothing! The office staff couldn't transfer her to another doctor and said that the rest of their doctors were booked through the end of next month. WTF?!
My wife had to stop work to come to this appointment, and that's the least of her concerns since she's in constant eye pain right now. What's wrong with this place that they treat their customers this way? The worst part is that my wife's been to this clinic before and had a good experience the first time. Well, she's not going again, that's for sure.
DO NOT GO TO THE WEST SEATTLE-HIGHLINE EYE CLINIC. I refuse to support any business that FAILS so hard on customer service, especially for people who are in pain and need help the most.
This is no "Nordstrom" experiences..
I went to the one in West Seattle.
If you have good insurances, look else where.
For the Dr. They have so many patients to care for, but I still feel that they do their best to provide stardard treatments.
Front desk seems very sweet. ( the older lady)
The rest of the trolls, they could careless. They want you out of their face as soon as they can. You are just cattles.
There is no insurace code for human thouch that they can charge, therefor you don't get NONE.
91 year old can actually see!. Dr Meyer is not long on conversation, but he is amazing at eye surgery. Appointments are prompt and in only 2 months my 91 year old mother in law no longer needs $110 per bottle eye drops for glaucoma (healed by a laser procedure) and doesn't need glasses for distance thanks to cataract surgery. I was VERY sceptical, but am now a huge fan! I'm telling everyone - whether laser procedures, eye exams, etc, I'll be seeing Dr Meyer and so will my whole family. Receptionists have been nice enough, and our 12 appointments so far have been great experiences!
Good Doctor, poor front desk staff..
The Doctor I have been seeing is great, but the front desk staff needs a good overhaul. They lack any kind of customer service skills. The person I believe who is the manager a middle aged women is the worse.
I only continue to go there due to the location, otherwise I would go elsewhere in a heart beat.
Best Eye care I've recieved in YEARS!!!.
I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Meyer for my Lasik and PRK earlier this year and am surprised to find mixed reviews regarding this practice.
I found the staff to be warm, friendly, informative and inviting! The Dr. knew what he was doing and made very educated decisions in regards to my surgery and vision. He took care to explain the procedure, its risks, complications and benefits. I trust him 100% with my eye health and vision, which says a lot since you only get one set of eyes!!
My overall experience was amazing, I now have BETTER than 20/20 vision without glasses!! I couldn't have asked for better care!! I would recommend West Seattle-Highline Eye clinic to anyone who takes their eye care seriously and expects quality care!
DO NOT go here.
I had a terrible experience here with the extremely rude Dr. Mulligan. I'd give this place no stars if I could.
I took my 84 yo mother there for a laser procedure. We live in West Seattle so it was a convenient choice since my mother is disabled. Dr. Mulligan came in with a scowl, and when my mom said, "can I have a smile?" Dr. Mulligan responded "I'm not a monkey in a circus, I don't perform on command." THIS IS AN EXACT QUOTE. Okay, not a great start but I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Ultimately he was unable to perform the routine, partly because my mom freaked out at having to have a lens placed on her eye. He didn't ever explain what he needed, and didn't try to calm her down. Finally he gave up. After we left the office, my mom was left with the feeling that she had done something wrong.
To make matters worse, when I called the office a week later to request her records so they could be sent to a new doctor, they asked me why. I told them. And interestingly, the records never did get sent to the new office.
Btw, a more patient, kinder doctor did perform the procedure a few weeks later without a hitch.
Please don't subject yourself or your loved ones to the kind of treatment this place provides.
Good location - terrible customer service.
If you don't mind navigating through one hassle after another just to get a pair of glasses, then this is your place.
Recently tried to get two glasses (one for reading, the other for regular use.) Not a single thing turned out right:
For the second time, Dr. Meyer's prescription was too strong; the computer glasses came in with both a damaged lens AND frame; the second pair not only had too powerful a lens but the weight of the frames almost broke my nose.
Then came all the hassles with the refund. I'm still waiting! I wish I could say these were just isolated problems. But I've been coming to this clinic for several years, and I always seem to run into some sort of glitch.
All in all, hardly the most professional, customer service friendly place.
The best eye clinic in the greater Puget Sound!.
Can't say enough about the quality of care and expertise that these two clinics (W Seattle & Highline) offer. I have several high end orhopedic and internal medicine physicians who speak highly of the opthomologists at this office. Dr Mulligan (and his colleagues), has been an ethical physician who will only suggest a procedure when truly needed. For example he would not perform lasik on me as he felt that it would not be in my best interests when others outside of these two clinics have suggested otherwise!
The staff is friendly, efficient, and courteous. After seeing the couple of low reviews i felt i had to take the time and set real expectations. I feel it is not a ripoff as one reviewer stated due to a missed appt. cjarge. $50 is very inexpensive considering the time taken out of a physician day when you do not have the common courtesy or responsibilty to call prior to an appt (especially when set by the reviewer him/herself) The optical dept have some of the most friendly and effecient staff around. Mark and his colleagues are 1st rate and very business like, so not a lof time is wasted. I have also seen them take the extra time and care with some of the elderly patients who sometimes need a little extra. I have to agree with the large majority of reviewers that this is indeed a five star clinic.
Hope this helps!
Rude staff, good eye docs. Ever see the movie Beetlejuice, in the waiting room of the afterlife? At least those freaks are interesting if obnoxious and unhelpful. Seriously, West Seattle Eye Clinic has some of the rudest people working there I've ever encountered in my life. But the reason it gets 3 stars in spite of this is that I love the doctors. So, go there on behalf of your eyes, but prepare to deal with incompetent and unfriendly staff.
Dr. Weingeist and his team are the greatest. Dr. Weingeist and his team are the greatest. I recently had Lasik eye surgery and the results are amazing. The staff was always very helpful. Dr. Weingeist was able take me through all the details of surgery which made the procedure that much easier. He also takes care of my 3 year old son who loves to ask the question "why" as he checks out all the eye equipment. Dr. Weingeist made the check up fun and took the extra time to answer all my little patient's questions. Thank You.
