A Dim Sum Review – This restaurant is hiding behind business complexes near the Factoria Mall. The Saturday morning dim sum starts at 10AM. During the weekend AND weekday a line will most likely be building up by noon. Arrive early because the teeny-tiny parking lot gets full fast. Nearby businesses have ?No Restaurant Parking? warning signs everywhere, but there is plenty of parking around the block or across the street. The winning characteristic about Top Gun is the dim sum selection. There are the traditional nomegai, shumai, shrimp noodles, beef noodles, shrimp ball, chicken feet, tripe, etc?. However, Top Gun has a few more items on the carts that include honey-walnut-prawns, fried calamari, fried noodles, congee, and a bunch of other things that I haven?t seen in other restaurants dim sum. The quality and quantity of the dim sum entrees are good (for Seattle). The environment is great for large groups that expect the typical Chinese restaurant feel: very busy service (and sometimes inattentive) and the typical Chinese restaurant comfort and cleanliness. The dim sum is best when fresh, so arrive early to beat the crowds.

BEWARE!! BAD PLACE!!! – After reading several bad reviews I decided to take a chance with a take out order. I called in my order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I got to Top Gun promptly 20 minutes later only to be told I would need to wait an additional 10 minutes. After waiting for another 30 minutes for my food it was obvious they had not started cooking my order until I got their. When I got home and opened my order instead of getting the mongolian beef and chow mein I ordered I was given two orders of chow mein. As it turned out the chow mein was not good and I hope the person that got my mongolian beef enjoyed it better than I enjoyed their chow mein. This was definitely my last experience with Top Gun!!!

absolutly horrible. do not waste your money – this food was so horrible, i felt the need to come on here, and warn others so they dont waste their money like i did. the place was old and dirty. the fish were barely moving in their tanks, and a lobster was pinned to the floor of his tank with tongs. there was one family in there. i guess that should have been my warning. we ordered almond fried chicken, and chicken friend rice. the almond fried chicken was disgusting. never in my life have i gone out for dinner, and had only one bite of my entree. it was greasy, and had no flavor at all. the chicken was slathered in batter and fried, and the sauce was tasteless.

the service was bad, no one spoke english. dim sum is only served to three, and i will never ever go back to this place. dont waste your money.

hong kong diner food, – Although it is convenient they act like they are the only game in town. Really too bad. They could do so much better if they were nice. No wonder the waiters behave the way they do poor service, poor tips,.

WATCH OUT! – 1. When ordering seafood, make sure you get all that you ordered. We ordered and was charged for a 2lb crab and 2lb of geoduck. The crab was missing the meatiest part - the joints under the belly! We only got the legs. The geoduck plate only had 1/4 lbs of meat on it.

2. RUDE waiters. Had to argue with a waiter in order to get 2 more finger bowls...he only brought 1 for a table of 6. He claims we should share 1 bowl because "we don't have enough room" on the table for more finger bowls. When asking another waiter for the manager's name, he didn't remember it. When she appeared later in the evening, we were able to complain and the service miraculously improved.

3. The menu choices are limited. I think if you spoke and read Chinese, you can get better menu choices.

4. Get your own plates. If they don't service your table and you need extra plates, napkins, chopsticks, go ahead and get them - I did.

In general, I don't expect quality service from any Chinese restaurant, but this time, the service was worse than average.

Free Talking to the Restaurant – I thought It was free to speak out comment online, but actually, not. Someone will yell at me.

I just tried to speak out my idea. That's it.

I don't have comments for the Top Gun and O'Asian now.

Cleaner anyone? – Food was lack luster, missing big flavor, went early so service was no issue but never felt as though we were anything but a bother (which I don't mind, once in awhile, if the food is outstanding) and we needed to send back the teapot as it was disgusting. The place is run down, and not so clean. First time visit will be the last.

probably won't come in again.. – ..and that's mostly due to the lack of choices we had in terms of dim sum. When I found out that Top Gun owned O'Asian (downtown Seattle), I was excited to see if we could get even more choices at this location. Sadly, there were exponentially more choices downtown, and they were far fresher. We had about 4 different choices here, and they were all so-so. Also, we ended up with a HUGE bill (of which I'm still confused about to this day), as many dishes were marked "deluxe", even though they seemed to be the smallest dishes. Not so friendly staff, and we were left to wait for a seat for quite some time. I think I'll continue to eat at O'Asian, and wait until I'm in Vancouver B.C.

Worst Service Ever Encountred – Food is OK. The wait staff is atrocious. They ignore you, bring wrong order and if you point out their error, instead of apology you get contemptous looks (they do, reluctantly, adjust for undelivered order). Frankly, it appears that only Chinese customers are welcome at this restaurant.

Make sure you come at the right time – I've had dimsum pretty much everywhere in the PNW. This place isn't the best, but it's good enough and close enough that I would go regularly to get my dimsum fix.

It is one of the better dimsum places on the eastside. My favorite over here is Ming's, though.

The service can be poor when the place is packed, like on weekends. Avoid coming here as there are not enough waitstaff to accomodate patrons. Also, avoid going late in the afternoon as the food is not as fresh. This is typical of many dimsum restaurants.

However, if you go around noon on a weekday, it's great! The food is fresh, they've got most everything, and the place isn't super-packed, so you can get the attention you deserve.

Not a bad joint. Just a bit tough to find parking on the weekends.
