Worth another look – Dear previous reviewer. I am terribly sorry for the poor dining experience you and your husband recieved. As the new general maanger I want you to know that the manager on duty and responsible for your dinner that night is no longer with us. I have printed out your review and given it to each of our servers to ensure that the team understands the failure that night. We are working hard at resolving the issues and to make the Coho Cafe a truly outstanding dining establishment that all of issaquah and Sammamish can be very proud of. I urge you to try us again in the future as any failure at that point would be my own. I assure you that that will not happen.
Do they WANT people to come back? Horrible service. – My husband and I went to the COHO in Issaquah last night after trying to go to Jak's, which had a two hour wait. We had eaten there before, and the food was alright, and service was average, nothing to brag about. It?s on the passport card, so we thought we'd give it another try. But this time, it was much worse. Let's put it this way, we didn't even eat there, because we apparently are invisible to all the serving staff. We were promptly seated, but no one came over to greet us, take a drink order, or even bring water. We watched other tables being ignored as well, people who were done eating and looking like they had been waiting for a long time. So we waited about 10 minutes, watched the server pass our table about 5 times without any acknowledgement of our existence, so we up and left. There is no way we will ever go back here, ever. Not recommended.
Somethings different – I have dined here before and wasn't blown away. like other reviewers I thought the Redmond Coho was much better. Something is changing in Issaquah though. I know they have new mangement, but my last threee times have been great. Origional cocktails, consitently good food. I use my passport card so great value. Is Issaquah finally getting another restaurant to compete with Jak's? We will see but that would be great!
confused waiters and staff make this great restaurant a thumbs down – this place could be alot better than what it is now.
visited during lunch, and it was one noisy zoo. confused waiters and waitresses mixed, and lost orders. we ended up waiting 20 mintues after our meal was done to have one of initially ordered dish bagged for to-go. they were atleast polite and nice. not a kid friendly place with staff running around tables, and mostly diners from nearby offices. i was with my toddler kid, and we felt like we were in a wrong place. honestly, can't even remember what we had for lunch there, and it was just a few weeks ago.
oh, and i later found out that they over charged my credit card, even after adding the generous tip we gave, but did get the proper credit back after a few days. wow
Excellent Customer Service – It has been a while since I received customer service that parellels the outstanding service I received while visiting the Coho Cafe. My wife and I enjoyed dinner here a couple of Friday nights ago and were blown away by the sincere and friendly service that we received from the hostess, our server, and all of the employees that we encountered, despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy. I tried the chopped seafood salad and my wife had the pit roasted salmon and we were both very delighted with our meals. The flavor and the presentation were superb. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us select both our wine and our entrees. If you don't mind a little bit of noise, I highly recommend trying the Coho Cafe. The atmosphere is very fun and lively and the staff makes you feel important and welcome from the minute you enter the door. This is an establishment that should put Issaquah on the map for great places to eat!
Happy Hour Heaven – This is the "best" restaurant in Issaquah. I loved it from the minute I walked in! Very friendly staff, wonderful decor and a great happy hour. A great place to stop by and decompress after the drive home on I-90. My favorites are the seared ahi appetizer and the grilled bacon wrapped jalapenos. Absolutly wonderful! It can be a bit busy with standing room only during peak hours, but the "gem" is they do the same happy hour after 9 as well.
Best in Redmond – Great atmosphere and best patio around. Fun origional cocktails (try the summer tea one) and consistently good food. I like it because it has energy, flavor, and you can tell that the people their are passionate about what they do. Nice to see an established restaurant hitting on all cylinders!
Fun atmosphere, Average food. – Have been to Coho 3 times. First time I went about 2 years ago, the seafood salad I ordered was the worst salad dish I have ever had. I'm dead serious. The Squid on it was almost raw and the dressing was simply awful. Absolutely unacceptable. I ate about 20% of it. The second time I went- a month ago- I had fish tacos and I loved it. The next day I went back because I forgot my cell phone at the table. Since I was already there I ordered a salad... you guessed it, it had squid on it and it was still awful. They called it calamari so I assumed it was going to be fried, not semi-raw. Same awful dressing.
Unfortunately, most other people love the place, so for MY belated birthday present we will be going there tonight! No squid for me!
Good but loud. – Nice, comfortable and delicious. The only negative that I have about this place is that it can get quite loud when there's a lot of people (weekends).
We go often (3 times a month) and often we take people from out of town.
Inconsistant and noisy – Food & service inconsistant. First 2 visits - food excellent, great ambience, service reasonable. Second 2 visits were awful. A meal for two had one person eating and finished before the waiter decided that the other persons order had been lost. The 2nd meal was "doggy bagged" and eaten later, as time had passed and tempers were raised. Free dessert was offered but not wanted - the total meal would have been offered gratis elsewhere. Last Saturday, a Thai chicken thing "on a bed of noodles" proved to be a bed of Top Ramen noodles (still square blocks) being approx 80% of the meal = $15! This was replaced with fish & chips when we complained, but I doubt there will be a fifth visit. Shame - they really blew it!
