Old new spot.... – From looking at previous reviews, I see that this place has been around, be that as it may this past weekend was my first time here and i gotta tell you, the vibe was amazing, it takes a little bit of time before the place gets packed but well worth the wait. The bar staff was excellent and I never had a problem getting drinks. I love the hi ceilings and the brick walls. Very red too. It is definitely an "old new spot" that I'll be going back to, No doubt.....
Rocks – What can I say King King ROCKS!!!!!!
Have seen some amazing bands, and the girl's are aloways HOT! That's all the girls!
Citysearch Editorial Review – To summarize King King in two words: versatile and red. Located in a historic building in a revamped Hollywood neighborhood, it's got tall ceilings, exposed brick and lots of open space. Everything else changes nightly, from the live music to the transformable, sparkly red Naugahyde bar. Go-go dancers entertain the masses from their netted cage above the stage. In an area known for restrictive door policies and gimmicky-themed bars, King King offers something special: quality live music without any fanfare. The crowd is reflective of the music, enticing Latin swing fans, blues lovers and rockers. It's a good mix of loyalists who remember the old days, when rock-and-roll heavyweights like Mick Jagger and Lenny Kravitz spontaneously hopped onstage for jam sessions, as well as new scenesters eager to be a part of legends yet to be lived.
AWESOME PLACE! – My brother, cousin and I go every saturday, it has a great atmoshphere, everyone is friendly and there to have a great time. We all love the DJ KEMAL!! nest house music in Hollywood!
House Comes to Hollywood on a Sat night – King King is a great joint on the weekends. During the week, it has live music, but I've never been. It is a club all the way though - there are very few tables (ten?). It is like a converted one room warehouse. It is where I like to think the Deep (M. Wyatt) crowd hangs out on a sat. night, without having to travel to a crowded/claustophobic Zanzibar. Almost all the crowd dances, unlike most places. Cheap drinks too. But best of all, the DJ is on the dance floor, no booth, no platform, the DJ is part of the dance crowd. And they actually enforce the maximum crowd limit!
Recommended if you are looking to dance todeep house, if you want to a scene, go somewhere else
Good time! – I went on Saturday night and had a great time. The place plays great house music, and is a great place to dance! The music sounds great in the high ceiling warehouse type atmosphere. My friends and I got in for $5 at 11. My only complaint was the smoke. Lots of people smoking....
Great place to dance – Went on a saturday nite, and flyer said it would be 10 but found out it was 15. but we went in anyways, sol and lillyane (sp?) were great, drinks were decent, Mixture of people, saw more asians there, not that its a bad thing. Overall i had fun, just when its at a cheaper cover charge. Very big dance floor, people are definetly here to dance!
swinging good time – I really enjoyed king king, it was very cool... The owner has great taste in bands and provides a very hip and chill atmosphere... check this place out...
