Neighborhoods: Central LA, Hollywood
Hollywood Boulevard club known for its spoken word nights like the monthly Mortified diary entry series.
House Music Heaven – So im not a big fan of the mega-clubs, and the pretentious clientel associated with many of the late night spots in Hollywood, but if you are looking for a club that provides an intimate atmosphere, great sound, a laid back crowd, and a never-ending line-up of interationally renowned DJ talent playing the best underground house and techno music til the wee morning hours, then head over to King King on any given Friday or Saturday night and thank me later. As I eluded, the club is small, catering to about 350 people, so if you want the "big room" experience, then this isnt the place. Parking is NOT cheap at the club itself, so look elsewhere for that and your night should turn out great!
An ugly hole in the wall – King king is
A hole in a wall.
A small hole in a wall
A very small & ugly hole in a very ugly wall
Though some of the DJs are good, the crowd is trippy and weird with no consistency. If you can happily party with any soul without restrictions then king king offers just that. A small version of Avalon, Vanguard and Music Box.
Its a good place to go if you want to hook up with random folks that enjoy the dance music best while tripping on some illegal substance.
Two stars for some of the very good DJs.

it should be in LA's top 10! – from the exterior to the interior, it's nothing like most club in LA, from every aspects of this club it's fantastic. let's begin with the parking...unlike most clubs, the parking attendants at king king are so professional and curtious, but firm of course. the door man/security guards are so polite, it's so not your typical LA doorman/bouncer, they're actually real people, you could actually have laughs and conversations with them. despite their large and condescending sizes, they're very approachable, fear nothing, because the security guards at king king are there to protect and respects its patrons. but beware, be nice or else you'll here it from them, diplomatically speaking. the bartenders are so beautiful, helpful, approachable, professional, and so curtious(unlike most bar/clubs in LA. basically, they're real genuine. and their barbacks aren't only doing hundreds of things all at once, but they also bartend at the same time, wow! a lot of work for these barbacks, but of course they're also good looking, good wokers, professional, curtious, and at times you see them bartend and they sure know how to pour. big ups to these barbacks! don't be afraid to ask the barbacks for drinks because they'll gladly help you, they might look busy for the most part, but once you get their attention they'll gladly help you. basically the bar staff aren't just good looking, they know their profession and they know how to run the place, unlike most bar/clubs in LA, these folks also have leaderships, initiation, fast friendly, and they're all very deligent. the wait for a drink isn't too bad, you have to remember that the club does get busy, especially on the weekend. the manager and the onwner are extremely friendly, down to earth and aren't arrogant. the venue has an overall fantastic atmosphere. no fights, or gangs, or trouble makers. i've been comin' here for years, mostly during balance, and basics. so this place is a must visit, whether you're a local or not.
great place to go for quality house music and positive vibes – fridays at the king king are a perfect way to kick off the weekend-not the kind of dress code enforced/have to flirt with the bouncer to get in type of place. when a good dj is in town, the line does get heavy though. been there many, many a times and have never had a bad night.
Absolutely a wonderful place on Saturdays! – King King is now one of my favorite places to visit on Saturdays.
Im a happy single 38 yr. girl who drives from the Inland Empire to LA seeking the healing power of House Music. This club impressed me in multiple ways: 1. The security is very professional, polite and diplomatic. 2. The tall brunette bartendress was warm, funny and very professional, one of the best in her profession, gave me a feeling of being at home-being one of the family. 3. The music.... ah the beautiful house music that flowed from the amazing finger tips of the angelic DJ... He gave me chills all night long with a smile to match. 4. The clientele of King King is a loving, kind, down to earth, diverse funny crowd. Being happily single, I don't pick up guys at bars/clubs and I dont like pawing tacky guys who have no idea of what personal space is, thus I can confidently say that every gentleman I had the pleasure of coming in contact with was very kind and brotherly. I cant tell you enough how important that is to me and most single girls. The regular female clientele are especially delightful and engaging and have this amazing talent of making everyone feel like they welcomed with open arms.
Regardless if you are single or not, do know that if you visit King King on Saturdays you will have a wonderful time in a secure professional environment with clientele who looks out for one another.
Notes: I dont mind paying a $15 cover charge because it supports our local artists and a safe place that we may all attend until 4am. Always remember to tip regardless if you got cocktails or just water! Absolutely no drinks of any kind are allowed outside the building, periodd. Do help, dont hamper.
To me, this type of environment is my church, my temple and it rejuvenates my faith in humanity.
hot for salsa – seems like salsa nite here sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the evenings. thats the only night ive been and the energy is great. grant it, its intimidating bc a lot of the people there are professional dancers with their friends, so sometimes no one will ask you to dance bc they all know each other. but the regular vibe is refreshing. the bartenders are sweethearts. when the band isnt playing (theyre great!), the dj plays and it always jumps. it doesnt make up for when the band plays so a lot of people just sit. its way way too hot in there-they need some air circulation.
Shh Don't tell anyone – Just between you and I, this place is the real and I, this place is the real and I, this place is the real and I, this place is the real and I, this place is the real deal. The dj's
Worth checking out – Unpretentious house club on saturday nights. Great, diverse crowd with no hidden agendas. Drinks are well priced, club runs till 4.
The King King Oasis – This is a space that has an amazing and unpretenious quality. The DJ's are masters! The crowd is very friendly and actually there to dance to the best house and techo mixes found in some world class venues. It's vibe is funky, soulful and fun, The crowd and the DJ's feed one another's fire and fuels emotion throughout the night until closing. Get there before the rest of them find it. WOW!
..::Best Secret in Hollywood::.. – Driving past it on Hollywood Blvd., you'd never know there was a chill yet vivacious club inside. Pull around to the back, for very convenient parking and the entrance, where there is never a long wait. With high ceilings, brick interior, asian decor, and a bar that bleeds into the dance floor, you'd think you were in a hip SoHo loft. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, because you can stay and dance until 4 am!
