Greedy- No Conscience – January of 2006, we had reservations at Chenez for 4 people. The day before we were all to dine, our now 3 year old little girl was born. I couldn't be there, but, my husband went with our older children to celebrate anyway. They arrived on time and ordered many dishes. When the bill came, there was an extra $75.00 charge. When my husband asked for clarification - the manager told him it was a charge for ME, the 4th person who didn't come. The manager refused to take it off even when my husband told him the story. To this day, we can't believe that any establishment would be this heartless. So, every time around this year, our daughter adds another year and I add another BAD - DOND'T GO THIS THIS ROTTEN PLACE revue.....Thanks for NOTHING Chenez - literally. Oh, and the food - nothing special- save your $$$$ and for gods sake, don't give them your credit card over the phone.

Basics found to be lacking – The table water had a bad taste which I did not make a big deal of...but the owner noticed I tasted my S.O.'s water and asked if there was a probem. So I told him. "Zat is why we offer zee Pelegrino!!!!" Uh huh. That was after the hair (blond) in the langostines (tepid, although we were the only table), which I chose not to comment on until the meal was over, lest things become uncomfortable. I was told I couldn't have my elk medium (Simian that I am). Then water was poured, from a wine bottle, that was heavily laden with black sediment. Well, you'd think that would add some humility to the whole debacle. Nope: "Zat is why we offer zee Pelegrino!!!!" Hostess brings me new water and asks about it. It's fine. THAT'S EVIAN! (HA!). Bill was delivered to to my in-law after I had specificaly asked the owner for it to go to me. Couldn't wait to leave this restaurant that prdes itself on only having one seating. $733 for 4. We brought our own wine. Skip this charade and go to Chez Betty.

Incredible...! – 7/14/07

We decided to go to Park City this year to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. We were concerned about whether Park City would have a nice enough (four to five start) restaurant to have a romantic dinner at. At the last minute we decided to try Chenez. We were completely caught off guard. Nestled in the shops off of main street was this incredible jewel of a restaurant. Not only was the food incredible, the service was perfect. It was as if we were dining in one of Paris' fine restaurants. The attention to detail was fabulous and the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. We will make sure we dine at Chenez each time we visit Park City.

Exquisite dining experience – My wife Susan and I are keen travellers. In these travels we always seek great restaurants. We have dinned in restaurants with huge names sucha as Micheal Mina, Charlie Trotter and like, but they do not have the intimate romantic athmosphere that Chenez has. Joseph is a supperb chef and great host, do not hesitate to give him a visit if your are in the Park City vecinity.

Best French – 3/31/07

Impeccable....need I say more. My wife and I chose Chenez to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The ambiance was very relaxing. The food was prepared to perfection and presented magnificently. The staff was absolutely perfect. Please accept our sincere thanks to everyone at Chenez who made a perfect evening possible.

Not Nearly Worth the Price! – Do not go here unless you want to spend way too much money for a decent meal. My husband and I were the only people in the restaurant the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there. We knew Chenez had the reputation of being the most expensive restaurant in Park City, and we figured there was a good reason for that. We were sorely disappointed. I am not saying the food wasn't good, but it definitely was not worth the price we paid for it. It was not anything special. The atmosphere felt like we were intruding at an old woman's home. Our waitress had a black eye and stood at the back of the room the whole time, making conversation uncomfortable (as we were the only guests, the only thing she would have to listen to was our conversation). So to put it short, we were very disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Go to Chez Betty instead!

Top quality old school French – Nearly flawless old school French food in a very romantic room. Great special occasion dining. It's probably best for the 40+ crowd (which I fit). A lot of attention to detail. Expensive corkage and overpriced wine list, but other than that, excellent in pretty much every way. It was not crowded when I went, so I don't know about atmosphere when crowded.

Jeans and a sweater won't cut it at this French bistro that exudes impeccable style and taste. – The Scene
One of the most upscale restaurants in Summit County, Chenez prides itself on sophistication, evident in everything from the "no cell phones allowed" sign to attentive replenishment of warm bread. It's cozy and classy and, luckily, there are curtains to hide the tourists strolling along Marriott Town Plaza's concrete walkways outside.

The Food
For a French restaurant, there's a hefty menu, making the choice between eight appetizers, two soups and five salads difficult. French onion gratinee is to drool over, as are seared scallops glistening in garlic, lemon and butter sauce. For a bit of performance art, order the popular Chateaubriand, carved tableside and accompanied by a slightly sparse portion of tender veggies. Seared elk loin with sun-dried cherry and green peppercorn is served with a demi-glace that enhances the rich flavor of this non-gamey meat. Save room, and time, for dessert. The Godiva chocolate or Grand Marnier soufflé requires 30 minutes to prepare, but it's worth the wait.
