Festive, East Falls Tex-Mex with so-so fare. – In Short
The post-college set fills the place thanks to the menu cover that describes the Tex-Mex fare exactly: "The Good, the Bad & the Burrito." Homemade chips and just-right roasted chili salsa is definitely a good beginning. Entrees such as shredded chicken tacos and baked pork are local favorites and border specialties like fajitas and fried codfish tacos are big and filling.

Needs some competition – We live in East Falls and it is a shame that it doesn't really have any competition. I think the food is poor at best and the price is outrageous. Service is OK I guess. I am definitely not a fan.

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!! – This place was definitely not worth it! We waited for a server for about 20 minutes while another server walked past us about 30 times ignoring us because she didn't want to wait on us. The manager didn't seem to care whatsoever. We ended up having a very nice server but she deserves to work somewhere better. HORRIBLE!

Here's Johnny! – I am a local to East Falls and am partial to the atmosphere at Johnny Mananas. I head down the hill about once a week to grab a few beers or Margaritas with my neighbors and enjoy the food there. I like going with a group and enjoy having a few cocktails and watching some games on the large TV's. I would say it is not a date place, I enjoy the generous portions of food there and the Margaritas are very good. The food could improve however I thought the service was excellent. Make you're own decision and check it out.

What Ambience?? – DISASTER! We have eaten at Johnny's about five times, but last night made twice the fire alarm has gone off. I'm talking about the commercial grade fire alarm, piercing noise and flashing strobe. It happens, and they are making smoking fajitas, but it went off FOUR times in the hour we were there. I got such attitude from the servers and manager "its not our fault", "it must be the renters upstairs", "the basement is flooded"(which I'm still trying to figure how that set off the smoke alarm). I'm sorry if its not your fault, but it is your problem! I don't go out to eat just for the food, we had to talk with our friends through plugged ears. Only after the fourth alarm did they actually call the fire department. I will not go back until they upgrade their ventilation/fire system.

No Where Near The Real Deal! – As someone who grew up in Southern California and knows what good Mexican food should taste like, I have to say this place falls way short.. I mean c'mon Pizza sauce on your enchiladas... try again!

Worst Mexican Restaurant in Phila, PA – My wife and I are recent transplants from California. Are previous forrays to other local restaurants had proven to be disappointing, so we thought that we would give them a try. I ordered a burrito thinking it was a safe bet. It wasn't. It was the most bland Mexican burrito I ever ate! Both my wife and sons's dishes lacked flavor as well. I requested our waiter to go to the kitchen to retrieve some chili powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, cilantro and serrano or jalapeno peppers.

He replied "we don't have those items in our kitchen." I was flabbergasted!! I let him know that if they don't have these seasonings in their kitchen then this isn't a Mexican restaurant! I have not been back since and caution everyone I know about going there in search of authentic Mexican food!!

Don't go for the food – Tortilla soup was cold and watery. Tacos and burritto were average at best, and overpriced. I would head up the road to Adobe Cafe for some great food and prices.

Tasty! – Went with a group of friends last Sat. night for dinner. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived, the service was friendly and prompt, the food was delicious and the margaritas were excellent! Not to mention a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it. I can't wait to go back!

Way North of the Border Mexican – Though the inside is smattered with uniqueness, the food by far does not compare. I have been here about 4 times and the food has been so disappointingly bland that my grandmother would be asking "where's the spice?" Perhaps this can be considered "way north of the border Mexican food".
