Love The Sagamore – We have gone to The Sagamore in the fall and this summer will be the first time we are going in the summer. I have been told it is very, very crowded in the summer but we are prepared. They treat you like first class at The Sagamore. But, be prepared it is super expensive in the summer. We are going for our anniversary. We are planning to walk into town to eat there to save money. We get the Lodge Suites, they are so big and have a view of the lake with a balcony, we feel it is more private then the main hotel. I think this is a great vacation place in the early fall, when prices are a bit lower. I am sure the summer will be great too! I also think it is a great place to go away to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, for us, this is a special place for a speial occasion.

Carrying on a grand, all-American tradition. – The Scene
It's hard to say what is more impressive about this place--the massive historic hotel that serves as its centerpiece or the deep greens and true blues of the woods and water that surround it. Set on a 72-acre island in Lake George, the property is abuzz all summer long with families and leisure travelers who have come to lounge on the private beach, play golf amidst birch and evergreen trees, and even learn how to scuba dive from a certified PADI instructor.

The Details
Accommodations here come in all shapes and sizes. Guests can choose from 350 bedrooms and Parlor Suites in the historic hotel, rooms in the Lodges with fireplaces and terraces, or the six-bedroom Wapanak Castle. Corporate groups are attracted by the conference center and exclusive Hermitage Executive Retreat, a self-contained, 19th-century Carriage House featuring 10 private suites and meeting spaces. Numerous dining rooms include the acclaimed Trillium, The Club Grille steakhouse and The Verandah, serving an eclectic menu of sushi, tapas and afternoon tea. Winter is a bit quieter, making the property an ideal base for skiing at nearby Gore and West Mountains. After a day on the slopes, what better way to unwind than with an Adirondack Hot Stone Massage at The Spa?
