Not An Authentic Kosher Restaurant. I was pumped as all hell to go to Danny's when I began working in Covina, but after my first trip I decided not to return. This place is not a true kosher deli and i realized this after I read that the special was a pastrami melt. The food is substandard at best and the ambience is reminiscent of my middle school cafeteria. I grew up in NY and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone expecting authentic deli food. Oh and also, the owner really needs to do some research because a true Israeli Breakfast does not consist of a bagel with cream cheese...as a part israeli I took major offense to this.
My local favorite. I eat at Danny's occassionally, but i'm always excited when I go. The food is excellent, I love their sandwiches, the Reuben is really good. As far as price goes they're like an average diner. You know the restaurants that have a bunch of old people usually have decent food at an affordable price
My Kosher Fix. I don't require a kosher diet, but I've often found that kosher delis have the best meat for sandwiches and they always have great pickles....and how could I resist a place called Danny's Kosher Pickle? Well...I can't, you're right. I live in Los Angeles and usually head west for kosher delis but when I'm in the San Gabriel Valley, we always somehow end up on Azusa Ave at Danny's. The staff here is amazingly friendly and the food is always fresh and abundant.
