TOP 5 Thai restaurants on King 5 Best of Western Wa. 2010! – Kaosamai Thai restaurant Has been Catering Thai cuisine from it's unique Mobile commercial kitchen since 2005.
No one can touch us for catering. Food is Best eaten when cooked at the venue! And Kaosamai Thai Restaurant is the only Thai Restaurant doing it this way.
Use to love this place – I wasn't upset when they forgot my 3 tea's-yet charged me for it the first or second time. I got my tea this time but I asked for no ice.
I ordered 3 dishes no onions no mushrooms. only one dish had onions anyway. Yet all three of them were filled with onions and they all seemed to have very little chicken too. It was late and there was nothing my starving husband who is allergic to onions could eat. When I called to explain they not only told me I was a liar that I had not requested no onions but they didn't seem to care either way. I was a regular once a month customer - now I will never eat there again.
Thai food in a convenient location – Kaosamai, a quiet home of a delicatessen offering the best standards of Thai cuisine.
While I’ll admit Kaosamai is not the end all be all of Thai food restaurants, it has a number of features that lend itself as a good local restaurant. First, the seating, it’s well laid out to allow for good separation between tables (this means less noise and awkward looks at strangers). They have outdoor patio seating for those rare sunny days in Seattle. The menu is not as extensive as some Thai restaurants, which means less strain in agreeing on what to order. Wine by the bottle is cheap!
Their pineapple curry to be particularly delicious…that is, if you like the sweet stuff. Prices run about $7 for an appetizer and $10 for an entrée (good size portions).
Authentic Thai food in Fremont – This is the first place I ever had Thai food in Seattle a few years ago and I was hooked. Living in close proximity it's hard to control my saliva glands each time I pass this pink and purple jem in Fremont. Having spent some time in Thailand I find myself pretty critical to Thai restaurants in North America. This place hasn't let me down yet!
The ambiance is lacking a little, with a basic set up on the main floor of this 'house'. The prices are very affordable so it's easy to overlook the patio furniture you may be sitting at. That being said, Kaosamai has just started expansion renovations that should be completed by May 2010 and could possibly polish up the interior.
If you can't make it to Fremont to experience Kaosamai be on the look out for their lunch trucks @ 3 West Nickerson (just East of SPU) at the Shell mini mart and @1010 Valley Street at The Center for Wooden Boats.
Great catering for employee lunch – I had Kaosamai cater a lunch for 130 employees at the office and it was excellent! I gave them my budget and they created a wonderful menu that please everyone! (including the vegans/vegetarians/gluten free people) . The food was very fresh and they were helpful in setting up, keeping up the food supply and in cleaning up.
Service and food superb! I highly recommend!
Excellent Food, Fantastic Service – Working in Fremont I’ve got easy access to a lot of good Thai restaurants, but Kaosamai is top on the list. In fact, my wife and I love their food and people so much that we hired them to cater our wedding. In their restaurant you’ll experience great flavors, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. They’ve got a great deck to soak up the rare Seattle sun.
A bit more about the catering – their casual approach to catering was a stress reliever, they are flexible on dishes and made good recommendations based on flavor, audience, and visual appeal, and their staff kicked butt! We hired their staff for additional help with busing, bartending, and setup and they all worked hard and as the groom I never had a question that they were doing what was needed. I got countless compliments on the food (it looked and tasted great) from guests – many of whom don’t eat Thai food! I can’t recommend their restaurant or catering enough!
Amazing Thai Food!!! – The food and service at Kaosami are awesome. My wife and I ate on their deck last night and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to go back!!!
Fantastic Thai Food, Awesome Outdoor Deck – Kaosamai is a great spot for lunch in Fremont, excellent peanut sauce, fun outdoor seating, and cheap. Great spot to grab a beer on a sunny day.
Awesome Catering! – Kaosamai catered our wedding for 42 people recently.
The actual planning process was relatively simple. I set up an appointment with Doug at Kaosamai (located in the Fremont area), and saw what they had to offer on the menu. After deciding what we wanted to try, we decided on the items listed in the next paragraph. They do charge you for the tasting, but you get to take home what you try, so it's almost like takeout. My only issue with that is I don't want to take home what I don't like, so my suggestion to Kaosamai. would be to have smaller tasting portions for no fee.
We had the spring rolls, chicken satays, phad thai with tofu, a chicken curry, and something seafood that my wife wanted. Comments from the guests were very complimentary, particularly around the chicken satays and spring rolls. I couldn't eat much just because I was stressed from planning the wedding, but from what I did have I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken curry over rice, and the chicken satays were amazing.
The service was excellent. I believe Sumalee was helping us, and made sure that all the food was prepared per our order from the tasting. She also had little touches of garnishments (shaved carrot, lime slices, etc.) and presentation that really make a good meal stand out.
I'd definitely recommend you check Kaosamai out if you want Thai food for your events. And if you just want good food on your own, try the location in Fremont.
