Get the cabins! – My parents used to take me as a child here all the time during off-peak season and it was normally very quiet. Coming back, it's just as elegant. While the hotel rooms themselves are quite nice, their cabins (or cottages, as I believe they're referred as) are quaint and feature their own kitchen and fireplace! I'd love to come back.
Where visiting royalty meets Mother Nature's majesty. – The Scene
This National Historic Landmark is set within one of the country's most glorious national parks. Built in 1927, the six-story stone and sugar pine beauty juts out from the bottom of a dramatic granite cliff. It is where Queen Elizabeth and President John F. Kennedy stayed when visiting Yosemite.
The gorgeous, tasteful decor is an eclectic mix of styles, ranging from Native American to Art Deco. But massive is the overriding theme here. The enormous dining room has a 34-foot ceiling with top-to-bottom stained glass windows and oversized wrought-iron chandeliers. Equally dramatic is the Solarium with its glass walls, jasper fountain and lush gardens. Guests can choose from a variety of guest rooms that include standards, parlors and junior suites. As well, there are 24 private cottages set amid dogwood and pine.
