Great Bra Shop – I thought I understood what a specialty bra shop was. I'd purchased bras at Soma Intimates before because they carry specialty sizes, but Tina's Closet takes it a step further. Not only does Tina's closet have specialty sizes, but they alter your bra to perfectly fit you. It makes such a huge difference having a bra that feels good, and to be honest, the range of prices for the nursing bras I bought wasn't even that bad. I'll never spend money at another specialty shop again. I'll head straight to Tina's Closet.
Tina is AMAZING – I am a big busted woman, and my brother was getting married in October. The dresses that his bride chose were strapless (a big busted woman's worst nightmare). I went in to Tina at Tina's Closet, I KNEW she was my only hope. I have been purchasing bras from her for at least 2 years now and I knew if I was going to have my "girls" held up and in place and fit in that strapless dress that Tina was the only one that could make that happen. Well I was right, I went in and Tina found me a boustier in my size 44GG and she got me in that dress. I looked gorgeous and felt fantastic. Everything was in place and where it was supposed to be. If Tina had not helped me I would have been self conscious all night and would not have been able to enjoy my brothers wedding. Tina is not only a great woman but she is a miracle worker when it comes to bras. Since I have gone to her, my back no longer goes numb and I don't have permanent marks on my shoulders. She is AMAZING and I only buy my bras at Tina's Closet now!!!
Great, lasting, affordable bras! – I’ve been coming to Tina’s Closet for years thanks to a friend who recommended it to me. I have always received exceptional service and have always found a bra that fit my needs whether I needed a sports bra or a cute, everyday bra.
I hadn’t been to Tina’s Closet in over a year and my everyday bra was starting to get stretched out, but it still had quite a bit of life in it. I took my bra to Tina’s Closet to have it taken in a few inches. After 2 inches and 10 minutes, I basically had a new bra for only $10! I love that Tina offers this solution, and I recommend it for any woman who knows the importance of having a great, lasting bra for a great price.
The headquarters of the brassiere fairy! – I'm a stay at home mom with six kids. Needless to say this means that my body shape is, shall we say challenging, my free time is limited, so I need to get the right bra the first time! After six pregnancy and now on my sixth nursing adventure, I've been through my share of horrid sales people pressuring me into an expensive bra that ends up being miserably uncomfortable and leads to breast duct issues.
Tina's was a life saver! Not only was it the first time I'd had a accurate measurement, but she has such a HUGE selection. The help staff is perky and helpful, never pushy and the whole place has a 'gal pal slumber party' air to it! And if the bra you love doesn't fit 'quite' right, Tina's excellent on site seamstress can make adjustments, ensuring the perfect fit for your body!
Tina's Closet- where my bras problems were solved! – I would like to talk about my experience with Tina's Closet, in Lisle, Illinois. I went to Tina's Closet because I heard from a friend that Tina will help you find the right bra for you and help you find what works and what doesn't work with your body type. I was so used to guessing and buying poor fitting bras, so I thought to give Tina's Closet a try. After purchasing two great bras, I am happy to say I finally found bras that work for me. Tina is not the typical saleswoman you would see in the mall or wherever else. Her goal isn't to just sell you a bra and make money. Instead, she thrives off of helping people and making sure her customers feel happy and comfortable. She is really a creative, understanding, and a sincere business owner because she took the time to listen to what I want in a bra and brought me bras based upon that. If I didn't like how a bra felt, she would explain why the uncomfortable feeling occurred. She really has perfected the art of fitting bras to each woman's body. After trying on different sizes and styles, I selected two bras. After wearing one of the bras for a few days, I felt uncomfortable. I returned to the store with a complaint and I was worried the bra couldn't be fixed. I was wrong because Tina solved my bra woe. I told her the bra was too wide for me, so she asked me to give to her her and while I was there, she sewed the cups closer together, creating what I wanted. I was happy she attended to my needs like that. But still, the straps didn't feel quite right. Tina asked me to leave the bra with her and to come back the next day to try it on again. The next day, I returned and tried on the bra, and yes, it was so much more comfortable. I asked Tina how she did it and she told me she put felt material along one of the straps to make it more comfortable. That really surprised me and I thought to myself "Wow, now this lady really thinks outside the box." She came up with such a creative idea to make my bra better for me. She was so happy to have solved all my bra issues and I could tell by the joy I saw on her face that this business means so much to her. I am very pleased to have went here to Tina's Closet!
best place to by a bra!! – I've been going to Tina's closet for 10 years and I have to tell you what keeps me going back....
Tina is awesome!!! Before I went to Tina I was disgusted with my body. I could never find a bra that fit...they were either too big around...or wouldn't fit over my boobs. But then I went to Tina's closet. She not only took the time to fit me into a bra that felt like heaven....but also made me feel really good about myself too!
I have gone back to her many many many times...for everyday bras, a bra for my wedding dress, nursing bras, even bathing suits. Tina has been there for me for all of it!!
Yes, sometimes you do have to wait, but the store itself is so relaxing that I just bring a book, and know that this is my time for me!
I will always go back to Tina...she takes the time to talk to her customers, no matter how busy she is she always takes that extra few minutes to get to know her customers. She also has a heart of gold.
Last year I had a house fire. My baby was 8 weeks old, and all my bras were lost in my house. I was only concerned with my nursing bras at the time so when I went in, Tina immediately recognized me and thought i was coming in to have my bra re-sized since I had just had the baby. I told her what I was going thru at the time...and she brought me right into the back....got me new nursing bras...and gave them to me!!! What other owner of a store would do that!! Free of charge!! I will never forget her kindness in my time of need!! I love Tina!!!
Just want to sell bras! – I wanted so badly to find a bra that was comfortable and fit me properly, particularly because I recently had breast cancer.
I admit - I was probably not wearing the correct size but I was shocked to be told that I was a 30D when I had been wearing 34 A-B. I bought three bras ($28 each) and left them to be altered. The first day that I wore one I could barely think about anything but my discomfort. I called Tina's the next morning and they said to come on over. Tina came in and asked if I was about to get my period, that I looked a little puffy. I explained that I was expecting my period, but that because of the cancer medication that my cycles are a bit off. She said that they probably had taken the bras in too much and replaced all three with 32Ds. She told me to wait until I got my period, wear the bras a few weeks, and then bring them back to be taken in.
That was a Saturday - by the next Thursday I had had it! I went back after work and explained that not only did I have red marks all around but that the fabric was irritating my skin. Tina again asked if I was getting my period - I still had not had it. She kept saying over and over how puffy I was and that she couldn't believe how differently the bra fit me than just five days before - I'm 5'3" and 110 pounds! How different could it have been??? Another issue - the wire underneath my left breast was sticking out - no where near my body. Tina told me it's because I'm bigger on the left side - well, I'm not, but she insisted that I am and that there was nothing that could be done to change the fit.
The worst part of my experience was having Tina call another employee back to see how the bra fit, "you are not going to believe how different the bra fits her!" Then both of them proceeded to tell me that I needed to stop taking my cancer medication, see an endocrinologist immediately, read Suzanne Sommers book (because she cured herself of breast cancer), and this went on and on and on. Apparently Tina is writing a book on women's health issues - she definitely did not have a problem telling me what I'm doing wrong.
She gave me an extender for the bras and told me to hang in there - that I will just have days that I need to use the extender. I got out of there as fast as I could.
I went to Kohl's the next morning and found a bra called Barely There. I doubt very much that I will ever wear any of the bras that I got at Tina's Closet.
Incorrect fittings to sell custom sizes – I went in here with a friend who purchases all her bras here...They are VERY pricey. I was fitted for an "odd" size but for a fee my bras could be "customized". Funny this is the same deal my friend has- she has an "odd" size. So when we were out of town we went to another store and got fitted...and we actually fit into a bra that is a normal size- did not need to be custom fitted. After speaking with others I find this is a practice regularly employed by Tonas Closet- MANY women are told they are an "odd" size and need a bra that has to be customized to fit them. Pretty good scam she has going. I would NEVER go back.
Tina Fit My Unsizeable Daughter! – Hopelessly, my daughter and I tried to find a bra that worked for her tiny frame, yet sizeable breasts -- we tried every store -- and, much to our disappointment, nothing worked. That is, until the day my daughter walked into Tinas Closet [Tina was recommended by a fellow student].
Tina whisked her efficiently into one of her Fitting Rooms, and began the work of engineering what became a Perfect Fit. Much to the delight of my daughter, Tina altered a bra to fit her unique frame [26 DDD] while she waited excitedly.
The bra was inexpensive -- the alterations were ridiculously affordable [$4] -- however, the look on the face of my daughter was PRICELESS!
My daughter got a renewed sense of confidence and I no longer had to pay for useless bras that bulge out of her lingerie drawer never to be worn. That was back in the year 2000, and she has enjoyed every minute of wearing her bras ever since. My daughter can stand up tall now, instead of constantly being hunched over with aching shoulders and neck pains!
Thank You Tina!! You have saved us thousands of dollars in disposable bras and the expense of a weekly visit to the Chiropractor!
WebRage does Everyone a Disservice! – Carol?s story has grown out of proportion since she left the store. Like any new customer, when Carol walked in, she filled out a New Customer Profile, with a note that reads:
ATTENTION: a $25 professional bra-fitting fee will be charged for us to size you. However, if you purchase a bra today, then this fee is waived. These fees are for those who are not purchasing a bra today. Thank you for your cooperation.
Carol signed the form, and told a staff member that her mother-in-law was on a restricted budget. Tina?s Closet Staff politely explained the policy and the range of prices [$25 and up]. She was also assured that Tina always works hard to find something within her customers? budget.
When Carol was called to the Fitting Room, Carol proceeded to insist that her mother-in-law be measured, but she did not wish to purchase a bra. To this, Carol was told ?No problem? however, without a purchase, a $25.00 Fitting Fee would apply, to which she strenuously objected, adding that anyone could just ?throw a tape measure around her? [mother-in-law].
Carol was patiently told that a Professional Corsetiere cannot simply throw a tape measure around someone and determine their size ? any professional would be negligent to promise otherwise.
Carol got mad, angrily tore up the sheet and left. At that point, the next customer was called, since they had also waited patiently for their turn.
Note: this $25 Fitting Fee was a policy that regrettably had to be instituted because customers, like Carol, would go into the store looking for ?free services.? These individuals take time away from other customers who are also waiting to receive professional services, leaving the staff exhausted and the fitting rooms in disarray.
