OMG - It's CLOSED!!!! – I am so sad that The Tea House Closed.

This is a neighborhood place that I could go and enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and the love shared by the people that worked there.

I celebrated my birthday there bringing about 20 people. We were treated like royalty, separate checks, and fabulous service.

Appreciation abounds,

Karenbeth Glunz

A good neighborhood place:-) – I have been to The Tea House about 25 times and have always had a good experience. I am a vegetarian and it's nice to have multiple options. I wouldn't call it gourmet, but it is good food. The staff is very kind.

Yowzers where did my money go? – After finding the pamphlet for delivery from the Tea House on my front door of my apartment complex I decided... why not give it a try. The menu is large and everything sounded so delicious! Boy was I wrong!! I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp which came with a cranberry tasting dipping sauce??? The egg roll tasted like rubber and the fried rice let me just say was not fried it tasted like mushed baby food. My boyfriend ordered orange chicken which had a tangy old flavor to it. We ended up spending 30.00 including a delivery fee, I could have gotten a tank of gas to drive myself somewhere for that price of this horrible quality food!!!!!

Not good – After reading the reviews we thought we would give it a try. After trying our appetizers we knew it was going to go downhill from there. We ordered some imperial rolls and they were almost burned and the neon red sauce they came with was terrible. All the Chinese items on the menu are American Chinese. We did our best to avoid those. The Vietnamese dishes were not good either. My husbands beef dish was covered in this bad sauce and the weirdest part was that even the steamed rice was bad. I had shrimp with butter and garlic sauce and that was ok. The staff is really nice and it seems like a fun place to hang out, but I would never eat here again.

Have one of the best shrimp dishes i've ever had! – I have been to the Tea House a number of times now. I've ordered a few different items off the menu but after i tried the salt and garlic shrimp under the Vietnamese selections, I can't choose anything else from now on. There is something about the batter that is so tasty. Its never over or under cooked. Its always perfect. Besides this meal, the ambience is very soothing and the waitstaff is so attentive and kind. I always look forward to going to the Tea House. Actually i'm going again this evening..and guess what i'm ordering..

The Tea House Austin Tx Romantic Not crowded – My husband and I live close by and went to The Tea House recently on a rare but welcome date night. The waitor was superb, the atmosphere was calm, softly lit and inviting, the other employees respectful of our privacy but attentive when needed. The food was excellent. Try it!

Mediocre - Probably Won't Return – The atmosphere was decent; the food fair at best.

- the spring rolls lacked cilantro

- my pho ok was ok, the tofu was horrid

- taro smoothie wasn't flavorful

- we ordered tea, but they didn't have teapot that didn't leak, so we never received it

Best Bau Luc Loc in Austin – I have been eating at this restaurant for years and one thing has remained constant. The best Bau Luc Loc in Austin (Vietnamese marinated steak). Also, this place has a great ambiance and terrific service. Try it!

Chinese and Vietnamese specialties in a tasteful, upscale setting. – In Short
Located in an anonymous strip mall, The Tea House is quiet and serene. Calming shades of brown, taupe and cream give the toned-down interior a relaxing ambience. An elevated bar situated in the center is a magnet for young Asians on the weekends. Vietnamese spring rolls feature cool rice paper wrappers that hold lettuce, shrimp and vermicelli noodles. A smooth peanut sauce spices them up. On the Chinese side there's young duckling with ginger root.

Great Food - Good Prices – Can't beat this for good Viet food. Love the noodles. These guys do it right. One of the better Viet places I've ever eaten.
