Don't go here! FIND a BETTER restaurant! – Sorry, NOT at all recommended! Overpriced. You have to serve yourself. That's right, no service at all. Food was crappy. Dirty restaurant. Frankly I was afraid of germs because I feared the food was old. Not even cheap beverages. Almost no one was there at dinnertime. I really can't believe some people like this place (unless the owners put in reviews).

The woman who took the order was disinterested and never even looked at me. The guys who I got the food from seemed very nice.

I'm afraid the fine people of Raleigh are missing out on good mexican or Tex-Mex food. Another restaurant we tried based on reviews was below average, but this place was by far the worst. We love Mexican, cook it, and know everything about it, especially Tex-Mex. We have yet to find decent Mexican food in raleigh. We are not picky eaters either. We just haven't found any---yet!

Right Off the Plane – Good place to go when you don't want to sit in a 3 star, or better, restaurant for a 1/2 hour before your food comes. I didn't want italian, steak, or hamburger. And its having a parking lot right off of Glenwood Ave suited me just fine.

worst yankees anywhere – Im so tired of yankees writing reviews of restaurants. Any restaurant outside of new york is sub-standard because its outside of new york. I want to bring something from new york and serve it at one of these restaurants just to prove a point. 99% of people say a restaurant is good but the "yankee" just has to rear his obnoxious nose every time...YOU chose to move here so deal with our food or leave. i95 goes both ways!!!

Love the food, but cheese dip is inconsistent-tomatoes are poor quality. – Love the food, but there is a room for improvement. I've been eating here since the inception and I have to be honest that the cheese dip is always inconsistent. I eat here 2-3 times a week and sometimes it is runny like water (which defeats the point of being called a dip) and sometimes it is too thick (almost like a casserole.) It is best when it served in between the two. Also, the quality of the tomatoes in your pico is poor. Most of the time, they are not rip enough-yellowish green and it simply doesn't taste good. You might as well serve raw tomatoes on a plate because that is most of the consistency in your pico. I asked once if you could get better tomatoes and the answer was no. I have a friend in the produce business who agrees with me that the tomatoes are poor quality and he/she stated that it doesn't require too much effort or money on your part for improvement. Just thought you might want to know.

Serve Yourself, Wait in line again for condiments! – This is not a place I will return to. It is self-service (hello Char-grill) and is overpriced, mediocre Southwest (and Mexican) food. My biggest complaint? There was no sour cream, and the chicken wings came with about a 1 tablespoon serving of ranch dressing. To get more, I was told I had to reorder and pay at the register. Of course there was a line, but I waited and paid $.75 for 2 ranch dressings and a sour cream. That should give you a feel for my experience! By the time I made it back to the table my date had finished her meal and mine was cold.

Aside fromt that...the food is "fast-food" quality, with higher prices and smaller portions than taco bell.

New Location in Wake Forest A Pleasant Surprise – This was my first time at the Armadillo Grill (apparently there are several locations), and I will be back again. The ordering arrangements are a bit different, but there was someone at the door to explain it all (you essentially become your own waiter). The building is open with plenty of booths that fit 5 comfortably. Their food was warm and prompt -- I particularly enjoyed their queso and chips. Perhaps next time we will try their large patio. Overall, we had a great experience.

Our FAVORITE place – The yummiest steak soft tacos around! Armadillo rocks. Because I started going to Armadillo as a UNC student and was used to plastic cups and paper plates -- that doesn't bother me. But I can understand how some might think that the "presentation" could use some work. That's just a way to keep it cheap! And, by the way, you're getting more food than the paper plates make it appear. Two soft tacos are PLENTY. The new "Dillo Deals" are perfect -- since you can now get a single serving of their totally addictive queso dip with your meal. Soooooo gooooooood..... And the outdoor seating is perfect for a nice day.

Wake Forest Site Chinzy? – First let me say their food is excellent, but the Wake Forest site is being run by a bunch of teenagers who are LOW on service. They get the food orders wrong and for gosh sake if someone doesnt want beans as a side at least offer more Rice on the side! And No I am not making a joke when I ask for that.

Service needs to improve or it sHello to the new and cheaper Taco Bell down the road or to the Los Marqueyes up the road which is Cheaper.

I question anyone who doesn't eat here.. – It soooo good. The cheese dip is the best in town. Ckn tacos have the best flavor-great marinade. Ckn nachos are my favorite. Staff is cool, friendly and not over the top friendly as other Tex-Mex places (Welcome to M...)--it's totally cheesy and the ckn is dodgy.
