They Kick Horses – Vern, maybe the owner, is obnoxious. When the horses don't do what he wants, he kicks them in the knees. On top of that, the horses are ridden until they go lame and then they are dumped probably at a slaughter house. If you want your kids to see some guy abuse horses, this is the place to go.
WORST RIDING EXPERIENCE EVER! – RIDERS BEWARE! My family and I am are very experienced riders with over 25 year?s experience- and have never had such a terrible experience at a stable! LAME trails; wonderful scenery is several construction sites that spooked the horses, Lake Reservoir tanks that smelled, talking puppets, and the horse WALKING trail was very short! Horses do not trot, canter, or take direction, even from the trail guide! They put a 7 year old girl, from another group, on a lead horse! The little girl could not control the horse and neither could the trail guide! Causing the girls to be petrified of the horse!
When confronted with criticism about trail ride, stable manager was very rude and the owner him self was yelling, inches from my face, and refused to even listen to our concerns. There are several other stables in the area that have trained horses, trained trail guides and REAL beautiful scenery! E-Z Rolling Stables, Red Ridge Ranch, and more- Don?t be fooled by a coupons and packages!! There is a reason they need to discount!
Enjoy a relaxing mosey through the woods on horseback. – Overview
Canyon Creek seems to have horseback riding down to a science, without taking any of the fun out of it. Helmets are available in all sizes for the less-experienced. Mounting and dismounting is made easy with three-foot platforms. Once you're on, a rancher will adjust the stirrups just right. There are a lot of horses, which are rotated in use. Sandals are not recommended.
The 45-minute ride takes you into the woods where small areas feature talking animals (motion-sensors activate these puppets). Scenes include a rustic tombstone (in true movie-set fashion) and various ponds. The trail meanders through an underground tunnel and passes a couple of golf-course holes. A ride by Lost Canyon provides excellent views of the sandstone rocks, where you might even spot a horse-drawn carriage.
