Grape Street might be one of my favorite secret places in Chicago. Located on the 2nd floor of a discreet building with a piano, juke box and awesome martinis (not to mention happy hour specials), this is a throw back to old Chicago.

I thought it was great! – I checked out this bar on my recent vacation and I loved it! So much that I went two nights in a row! Thursday the piano player wasn't playing so my buddy and I sat at the bar and had a few drinks and had an amazing conversation with the bar tender, Alice. When friday night rolled around I was eager to go back. The piano player was playing - and doing an amazing job I might add. The staff was friendly and prompt with our drinks. It was a most enjoyable experience!

The only negative I found was the price of drinks which were quite expensive compared to what I am used to, but the way I see it is this bar is a block off the Magnificent Mile (where everything is expensive) and pricey drinks should be expected. I also visited a couple other bars on my vacation and both of those establishments were priced just about the same.

I plan on revisiting the Grape Street and Vine Piano Bar next time I'm in Chicago! Thanks to the Asian Persuasion, Li'l Habanera, and Arturo for a great time!

WOW! What a blast. – I hope this is the right place. I never did get the name. We were headed for a different piano bar... and did not realize we were going the wrong direction. Well, I am glad because I had a great time. Thank you so much to staff, piano man, and all of the new friends we made. I am so sorry for being a little bit out of control. I think it was the special martinis . I am not usually like that... but fun was had by all. Was in town for the American Beauty Show. Will be back again. Thanks so much!

Mi Amore – oh my god. I think Christina is absolutely adorable and she is so sweet and I"m gonna come back a lot. If you like sweet gorgeous little petite bartenders go to Grape and vine.

Shady Bartender – Though this bar has a pretty good atmosphere and is quite cozy, I would say to beware of the bartender Alice. Wednesday night is supposed to be $5 martini specials but it seems that any evidence of this is suspiciously removed from the bar as there are no drink specials posted anywhere. I have been charged $10 for martinis on NUMEROUS occasions before I found out about the supposed drink special. Clearly this is a tourist trap so beware travelers and locals! I also find this bartender to overserve her customers. She is clearly out for the buck and takes advantage of people! I have also been here for $3 margaritas and Fridays which they advertise to include chips and salsa but never to seem to actually do. When I asked where the chips and salsa were I have been told that the owner forgot to go to the store. Is this for real???? With all the competition in the area, you need to step up and hire a credible staff. Though some of the men may be interested in the skimpy uniform the servers wear on the weekend, I'm not personally impressed.

Cover-free Streeterville piano bar treats guest to live interactive music. – In Short
Populated by older tourists and locals, this narrow piano bar greets visitors with photos of musicians, while live acts crank out tunes on a raised stage at the rear. A flight of stairs leads patrons to a long lounge, where they wait to be seated at one of a handful of tables. While some opt to order wine, many prefer the stiff specialty martinis that are named after platinum-winning artists.

Horrible Service, Horendous experience – This was an absolutely awful experience. When we first arrived the owner was there and seemed very friendly, and the waitress was nice, and the piano player was fantastic. However, within 15 minutes our entire experienced was ruined by the extreme rudeness of the wait staff. We all had ordered drinks at the bar, and waited for tables to open up. When they did we sat down, and with our drinks still in our hands, we were asked to get up from the table because were weren't ordering enough drinks fast enough. We had had at least the equivalent of two drinks per person (which is the bar's policy) and I had personally paid $5 for tap water. However, apparently that was not enough to buy us seats at the table. When we tried to reasonably talk to the sever about why we had to leave she was extremely curt and offered no explanation for her asking us to give up our seats. She just said we had to order more drinks... even though we had not finished the ones in front of us. Keep in mind this all took place in about 15 minutes. Unless you like to stand or be treated rudely avoid this bar at all costs!

Do Not Go Here – With rude servers and incredibly overpriced drinks(we were charged $10 for a rail rum and coke) this bar qualifies as a classic tourist trap. The music was good, but I still feel that this is a bar most people are better off passing by.

Not a nice experience – Not a good piano bar compared to Howl at the Moon on Hubbard. Very, very, very small and horrible tasting martinis. DO NOT GO HERE... try some of Chicago's other piano bars.

Dancing the night away – Eight of us arrived at Grape Street and Wine around 10:00 on a Saturday night and we were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the piano player was outstanding. His musical selection was great and although the dance area was very small (about 6 people can fit), we danced for hours and so did several others in the bar. I have been looking for a place like this in Chicago which is not too touristy and good quality music...I've found it.
