finally, a non smoking bar!. that is the biggest draw to West 5- the 100% smoke-free air. the drinks are outstanding, if slightly pricey. I recommend the Appleton Mojito. a little on the crowded side on Friday nights, but if you sit at the bar you get slightly faster service. yay for non smoking bars- let's hope the trend continues!

You must try!. Everyone should check out West 5. A great lounge (with very flattering neon pink lighting) in West Seattle--which was sorely in need of a great place to hang out for cocktails and nosh. Speaking of nosh, the food is quite good for a bar, and I highly recommend any of the appetizers. Reasonably priced and the servers were friendly and as attentive as possible on a busy night. What more could you ask for in a neighborhood bar?

the best bar on california.
Great food, slick decor, nice staff. It's a little hard to get a place to sit around dinner time, but you can always hit the bar and wait.
The crowd varies a lot - seems different every time I go in. Overall pretty cool - not a wild party place.
Bar/wait staff is generally very friendly. Drinks are ok for the price PBR on tap is the best value ;-)
The whole place is non-smoking, which is ok for dinner but as a smoker it's a little bit of a downer to hang out at the bar.

My favorite place in West Seattle.
West 5 opened recently and very quickly sorted out some operational details allowing it to become my favorite place to eat in West Seattle. It has the best Macaroni in Cheese in town, period, and many of the other offerings are stellar as well (meatloaf) at a great price.
The owner has always been friendly to me, always asking if I enjoyed my meal, and really listening to the answer. The diverse clientel and decent drinks round out the experience.

A Welcome Change for West Seattle. The food was winning, the atmosphere of nostalgia lite and cocktail chic is quite charming, and I highly recommend a visit for those who enjoy a drink & a bite, or just a drink, or just a bite. Well done West 5!
