Perfect Neighborhood Place. We go to West Five all the time. It's relaxing, the drinks are really good, whether from their cocktail menu or otherwise. Favorite food items include the vegetarian tamales (with chili and gauc and salsa, yum!), the tuna melt, the rueben and the blt. It's got the perfect west seattle vibe. We love it.

Great Drinks, Great Food. I have been going here for years ...it is the best, some good service some marginal, sometimes a wait, but the chicken appetizer, and the macaroni and cheese are to die over. Same with all of their mixed drinks -superb!

A good time was had by all.. We initially dropped by Matador, not a bad place but it just wasn't our scene, we wanted somewhere cool and comfy to catch up with old friends. Walked across the street and were very pleasantly surprised with West 5. Really nice waitstaff, great mac and cheese, stiff drink. West Seattle is a bit out of the way, but will be making the trip back.

Great experience.... the meals are indescriptible experience for the senses. My first meal in Seattle was an indescriptible experiece I enjoyed a Seared Halibut Sandwich, the classic Mac n chesse and finally a piece of heaven: Chocolate Souffle a la Mode...... I need say more??? The crew are friendly people, the music, the light, the owners, all the package is wonderful.

The best in WeST5 are the cookers, their hands creats little pieces the heaven on Seattle

Congrats.... Im so happy THANKS

Two-Fifty Manny's on Happy Hour!. Stopped in for a beer after not getting any service down the street at Elliot Bay Brewing. Here, the bartender was right there! It was just after 3PM so Happy Hour started, and I had a fresh pint of Mannys Ale! It was so good I had another along with a great tasting bacon, lettuce, & tomato sandwich. The old breweriana hanging about above the long bar added to the 1960's ambiance, and the comfortable bar chairs were nice.

West 5: The Place To Be.. I am new to the bar scene (turned 21 last year) but I had heard and read some positive things about West 5. Guess what, they're all true. I went there for the first time on the 4th of July weekend and it wasn't busy. My friends and I were able to find a table without any problems and the drinks are absolutely amazing. A few days ago, I looked at their web site to see what they served as well as their specialties and this is what I had.

Scarlett & Black - Guiness & Chambord. The foam from the Guiness gives it that great velvety feeling and it tastes as good as its name sounds. If you want a nice starter drink, are a fan of either or both drinks on their own, then this is it.

The Fang - this is not listed in their menu, but rather their web site. At first I thought this was some sort of "secret item." If you have checked out their web site and read the description, then you're really doing half of a favor. This drink is downright amazing. Though it's orange juice, you're also getting some apricot thrown in there and the rum compliments the sweet very well.

And if you're looking for the ultimate dish to go with The Fang, get a plate (or two) of their Nacho Plate. Both work so well together that they should be married, heh. The sweet and tangy flavor of The Fang can cool down the kick from the chili sauce of the nachos and you swear you think you went to Flavor Country and set up shop.

Overall the experience I had at West 5 was amazing. My friend from Australia has said that the next time he is in Seattle, there is no doubt that he will be repaying West 5 a visit.

By the way, he hates me because I live so close to West 5 and have infinite access to it, heh.

And most certainly, so will I.

Stylish, comfortable lounge welcomes West Seattle to the 21st century.. The Scene
Many 20- and 30-somethings have been lured to West Seattle because it is still so sleepy and unassuming, but don't doubt that the arrival of the sleek, modern West 5 wasn't cause for celebration. The space is large, clean, and handsomely decorated; it wouldn't look out of place in Belltown or Capitol Hill, though there are several touches that pronounce its neighborhood pride.

The Draw
Comfort is the driving force behind the menu, too. New spins on old standbys like mac-and-cheese, meat loaf, and sloppy joes predominate, though there are some lighter options available. The drinks are the best reason to go, however, as the bartenders have a plentiful stock to work from and pour generously. House drinks--particularly the Back Porch Julep made from Maker's Mark, tea, and crushed mint--are impressive.

My absolute fav!. West 5 is exactly what West Seattle has needed for years! I love everything about West 5! From the full bar to the vintage West Seattle memoribilia to the house salad to the music to the astral mac n' cheese! Very best! I moved to another part of the city, but I still hike it over to West Seattle just for West 5!

West 5 Rocks!. I have been going to West 5 since, literally, the day AFTER it opened. It is sophisticated yet understated all at the same time. Though I'm off carbs normally, the mac-n-cheese is TO DIE FOR! The staff are phenominal and truly gifted in their craft as well as "small town" customer service. I hope not too many people latch on to West Seattle's best kept secret...
