STUCK UP – the drink had no alchol in it , was ignored for 20 min. might as well been in the dark room at faces in 1979. nice looking place needs new management and new employees.
Good drinks, HORRIBLE service – The drinks were OK - lots of variety but other than that nothing special. However, the service was the WORST service I have ever experienced and I would absolutely never go back there. We had a group together for a happy hour, but the group was spread out over multiple tables that were not pushed together. It says on the menu that there are no separate checks, but we assumed that each separate table would get its own check at least. (Otherwise how could you possibly have a happy hour there?) Well the waitress, who had been pretty slow all night to begin with, decided to put all of the tables together on one bill so that it would be a large enough group to qualify for the mandatory 18% gratuity. First of all, by its very definition a gratuity cannot be mandatory (or therefore legally enforced). Not to mention the fact that she had combined what were clearly physcially separated tables in order to include it. Plus, did I mention that there is a 4 credit card maximum per check? Try figuring that out over multiple tables of people!
Well when we complained, we were yelled at and the waitress walked away, not returning for a long time. We felt strongly that this type of rude behavior did not warrant an 18% tip, but the waitress actually threatened to follow us to our cars and write down license plate numbers to call the cops if we didn't give her a huge tip (which again, CANNOT be legally required)! I swear I am not making this up! So whatever you do, AVOID THIS RESTUARANT unless you want to be THREATENED into leaving a huge, and completely undeserved, tip.
Great Place For a First Date. – One of the trendiest bars in the trendiest area of St. Louis.
Quaint, elegant and relaxed at the same time.
Quiet, place to have drinks, talk and get to know each other.
Any dress is acceptable and all kinds of dress and people can be seen there.
Oh yes, and the drinks are great and plentiful!
best martinis in st louis – I love this place when I lived in St Louis. Best selection of martinis and the staff has great service.
Slipped and in a free fall – The service and the martines were better when they first open. The staff and atmosphere seem to sparkle before but now seems to be a machine shop. Then The prices have climbed to the sky that they are using. Now they are nothing more that a south city bar at best. Then in the poor light atmosphere and poory dress staff too.
The print on the menu was to small and with the over dimed or lack of lighting was hard to read or unreadable. (Bring Along You Wallet Owls You Will Need Them)
Yummy! – My friends and I have been here twice and we love the Godiva chocolate martini. As a matter of fact, we love three of them! Delish! I love the atmosphere and diverse crowd. Bartenders are friendly and so are the cocktail servers. Love it!
Great place!! – This is an adult place. They keep the crowd to the allotted fire code so that service doesn't suffer and so their servers can get to everyone without spilling every martini.
The martinis are unbelievable and they are constantly dreaming up new ones......where else in this town do you find a bar that Skyy Vodka is their rail vodka.
No hangover, unless of course you have 12 or so, but then who wouldn't.
Don't be upset if you have to wait a little while to get in, the wait is worth it!!!
Neighborhood martini bar tempts diverse crowds with more than 120 sexy libations. – The Scene
This petite South Grand haunt draws consistent crowds with its come-as-you-are vibe and ab-fab drinks. Crimson walls and matching sconces provide a spicy setting for hush-hush trysts or rowdy get-togethers, and jovial waitstaff keeps you on your toes with a tad of attitude mixed into every drink. Regulars are as varied as the 120-drink menu, from Wash U. profs to cross-dressers to downtown developers and West county socialites.
In addition to the old standards that inspired the bar's name, you'll find an exhaustive list of vodka and gin offerings--including the dangerously smooth Ciroc, which tastes more like Evian than Absolut. Take some time to browse the concoctions categorized by type (fruity, classics, etc.) and theme (Bond girls, personality type, etc.). A limited food menu offers typical bar fare like cheese quesadillas and veggies with dip. Those in-the-know go for a chocolate Dixie Normous martini served with whole banana instead.
