Yeah! One is back!!! After a recent chef change it is better than ever! The calamari, steak frites and that lucious kit kat bar! Such a gorgeous space and a seasoned fun staff! One you rock!!!
Will try again – Cool space and so-so service can not make up for the fact that my tuna was over cooked not to mention the saltiest thing I have ever eaten - the server brought our wine to the table under his arm and I must say that by the time he had popped it open it was too WARM to drink. I wish it was a better experience considering so many of my boys rave about it. I will come back again but hope for better service

It All Starts With ONE midtown kitchen – There is nothing like springtime in Atlanta; it’s the season when it feels good to just get out and have fun. ONE midtown kitchen is no different. Getting out to dine at ONE will amp up the “feel good” with its amazingly creative offerings that come from Chef Drew Van Leuvan’s kitchen. Brilliant flavors and alluring textures rule at ONE. Using primarily local, sustainable produce, Chef Drew crafts distinctive seasonal foods that will stun the senses – foods come alive. The thrill of tasting flavors like these is like none other; this is one culinary adventure that’s not to be missed. Settle in and enjoy the all the pleasures that ONE has to offer.
The menu at ONE changes somewhat each night in order to serve the freshest ingredients available – it represents a celebration of seasonality. Start the festivities by exciting the palate with the pureed spread of edamame and lima bean that’s blended with roasted garlic, Dijon mustard, and fresh herbs. This tantalizing concoction is a tease of what creative flavors are to come. Besides being beautifully presented, the amazing Asparagus Soup is an expressive testimony of Chef Drew’s homage to spring’s garden. The soup is a layer of foamy cool white asparagus over a layer of warm creamy green asparagus. It is neither heavy nor vegetal- instead quite luscious and a treat to savor. Harvested in early spring are the highly anti-oxidant rich Fiddlehead ferns. These unfurled fronds are battered fried until crispy then seasoned with a splash of Tabasco and garnished with pickled onions and Sweetgrass Diary’s Asher Blue cheese- these are great nibblers. After slow cooking the cured Fudge Farm pork short ribs for 2 days, these “fall of the bone” morsels are glazed with a tangy tomato jam – yummy! But what are ribs without some of stinging nettles, pickled ramps, lemon zest, and a perfectly poached egg; this is the beauty of ONE, the unexpected.
It takes a knack to make pasta and more importantly a delicate touch. The nightly pasta offerings are packed with astonishing flavors. The half moon shaped, Mezzaluna, is filled with English peas and brown butter served over a curried hazelnut sauce that has an amazing zing that is crazy good. Whereas, the ring-shaped Tortellini is filled with fingerling potatoes, ramp, and a ricotta filling that’s bathing in a creamy potato brodo- it’s comfort food at its best. These tasty pastas are a menu highlight - don’t miss them.
The flavors and aromas become more pronounced with the large plate dishes. Served with scrumptious Cipollini onions, the succulent perfectly seared Nantucket scallops are cooked in brown butter sauce that’s drizzled with a lively sauce made with a red wine vinaigrette, chardonnay, and the highly flavorful guanciale- dried pork cheeks. If the mouth-watering hickory smoked La Belle duck doesn’t get the drool going, I don’t know what will. These mind-blowing tastes are realized after 2 days of cooking using the classic sous-vide technique, and then roasted to order in the wood oven. This savory duck is served over the creamy textured Sea Island Red Peas in a tomato-bacon ragout, and topped with a zesty green tomato chow chow. OMG these flavors are otherworldly. No worry- it’s OK to drool in amazement- it’s that good.
When you feel like you reached sensory overload, well shock the few unaroused taste buds with the delectable White Chocolate Financier – a moist almond brown butter cake that’s baked with strawberries and Valrona white chocolate, and accented with a slightly tart rhubarb preserve and Tres Leches sorbet. If nothing else, enjoy the gasp after each bite. When that springtime or any season urge to get out and have fun, don’t second guess it - grab a friend or that significant other as it all starts at ONE midtown kitchen.
Fun environment for a girls night out – Love the atmosphere and love going here with a group of girls. Great food and fun drinks! One has a great scene and lots of character
Worst experience ever !!!!!!!!!!!!! never going back – I have never written bad review for any restaurant before and would never have if the experience wasn't this bad. This time its exceptional becoz I want everyone to know how bad their food and service is.
It was my husband's bday yesterday and we were around 20 people who went there.I had called twice, visited the place personally before, to request them for good service and still got such bad service that I really want them to know that they were very disappointing. Everyone told me don't go there and I still convinced my friends to go there and the servers were so mean and not interested in serving with a smile.
To be precise,I had requested them before to seat our party as and when they arrive and not wait for all of them to come together. They troubled our guests wth that first. Then we get seated and the guys wanted to go drink at the bar and the girl server was so mean that she told them you cant drink here go back to your seat ????? I mean who does that . Then they wouldn't come and even ask for water . It was my husbands bday and he didnt even get water forget any good service. Then the guy waiter I asked him to help me with the menu and I couldn't decide he just told me read the menu and just left .........in the middle of our conversation when I am deciding what i want to eat?????????? omg seriously.....Now comes the worst, I went to the complain to the manager Meg/Megen (i dont remember he name) She was taking there side and said 'those our best servers' and 'thats how it is that you shouldnt be ordering drinks on the bar' . And didn't do anything to fix the situation.
The food was whatever . i dont know what all happened ith our guests but I was let down by them . I felt very bad taking my business there and embarassing myself in front of my friends.I know nothing is going to change there even after me writing this review but I am definately never going back and If anyone is reading this review pls trust me its not worth a penny .
not that outstanding... – The experience was good but there's nothing special about this place. I've had better food and service from other places.
inconsistent service – The food here used to be good, but now it's inconsistent. I went here with a friend a few months ago and had good food, then went back a few weeks ago and had really bad food. The ossobucco was too salty. The wait staff isn't really friendly and it's an expensive place.
Good Service, Questionable Food Safety – Normally don't leave comments like this, but feel a need to communicate my experience this evening. When the adjacent table was served their dinner, I made a comment to my girlfriend that I thought it was interesting that they ordered the same thing as us. One of them picked around at the salmon while the other stared confusingly at his pork. Once the couple finally put it all together, they called the waiter over and mentioned that it wasn't the correct order. The food was promptly taken back to the open kitchen, of which we happened to be seated directly in front. I watched as the staff placed the dishes on a shelf and then they sent us both soup to apologize for the delay (I assume they wanted us to think they were still preparing our food).
I watched in disbelief as they brought me the same plate that had gone to the table next to me about 10 minutes prior. After observing this as well as all food in the restaurant being plated by staff not wearing gloves or washing their hands while we were there makes me question the food safety practices of this restaurant.
