That is a terrible place. Never go there. There is a sales manager who is really offensive. I have never seen such unprofessional sales representatives - he must seriously think about his behaviour. He is a liar as well. Further complaints will be filed so that he can know the consequences, that miserable man. Respective disciplinary actions hopefully will ensue from NY Department of Consumers Affairs.

Avoid this place by all means.

Thank you.

WARNING !!! – They are liars. They try to sell me $299 earphones (Monster Beats earphones with mic) by dropping the price to $249 and saying it is a special discount because it was their last exemplar...

Those earphones are in fact only $189.99 in any serious shop around (Bestbuy, etc.)

They use a very common trick to lie and steal your money!

Liars and Cheaters – They lie and cheat. They sold me a product for $ 400 and I found on the internet that the real price is $ 130 (FR60 – Garmin). I also found on the internet a lot of reviews of people that were cheated and I used them. As I had no printer (I was a tourist), I took the pictures of product price and reviews about the store and, then, I came back at the store on the next day. They told me they would not return the cash. I threatened to get at the door and show the reviews to everyone that entered the store. I could then exchange for a product with a little consistent value and some gifts. Nevertheless, I lost money. We have to fight and prevent these crooks to continue acting in the market.

W A R N I N G ! – This company, situated on a prominent adress in NY, is working with a high degree of unseriousity. They tried to sell an Chrystal View lens for $2499, said it was made in Japan. Afterwards I realized that the value of the lens was $150-200, and the item was absolutly not made in Japan!! I'm coming from a Nordic Country, and they told me that another customer from my country bought > 1 items for $899 the same day! I was totally swindled, then I bought this lens together with a Canon flash for approx $950! They have nonthing to do in the market. I hope the NY Trade Association can act in some way! So folks, learn from my misstake & credulousity!! DON'T VISIT 51st COMPUTERS & ELECTRONICS!

Fry in Hell – Ripped off by unconsciousable, lack of integrity and down right dishonest bussiness. Sold me a computer for $2,167.00 which they had marked in the store as $2,999.00. This was to make me believe I had gotten a deal. When I turned the computer on it went directly to the Fujitsu website where the computer sold for $999 - $1,099. When I tried to return it to the store, I was passed from one salesperson to another as they each lied between their teeth that each one or the other could only make a decision to refund my money. I was then told to come back the next day and as I expected, the so call manager was not there and this one could not authorize the refund and on and on. These bastards should fry in hell. There is absolutely nothing honest about this business and I am going to file a complaint with every official office in the city of New York and the manufacturer of the computer system. I pray that they get their just reward for ripping people off.

Has been reported to NY Dept. of Consumers Affairs – I have just reported this dishonest retailer to the NY Department of Consumer Affairs.

My parents went shopping on Christmas day and was sold a cheap portable media player called Pasbuy 8gb.

At the shop they were looking at IPod's and the salesperson kept telling them to buy this 'Player made by Microsoft/Windows instead'.

They paid over $200 for a $73 player (price quoted from Pasbuy website). I am not going to bother calling them up and being nasty since NYC is not my hood (I live in LA). Therefore, a formal complaint has been logged with the authorities.

Ultimate Con - Men – Oh well, another mug was born this week. I cannot believe I was drawn into this ring of fire. My purchase of a JST 712 was completed after stepping into 51st Computers & Electronics 780 7th Avenue N.Y. The sales guy was really friendly, welcoming, personable and the ultimate conman who subsequently turned out to be a complete basxxrd!!

My tale follows the similar pattern to that of all the other threads, in that, I, for some reason purchased an inferior quality non branded product and SD cards for over 1300 dollars, this being a special offer to me because he liked me so much, incidentally he reduced the price from 2400 dollars obviously a very highly inflated price.

I took the camcorder and SD cards back and requested a refund, but was told that refunds would not be given, only exchanges were possible. Bearing this in mind I went for the damage limitation option, and agreed to exchange the unit and cards for two branded items, both 2007 models. These, as with every other product in the shop were hugely overpriced and I had to negotiate carefully with them whilst liasing with a friend who had Internet access in England, this action was carried out in an attempt to recover my potential losses. Even though I paid over the top for both items, the alternative was to potentially lose everything!

I can only conclude by saying that nobody should venture anywhere near these outlets, if you do, be prepared to be lied to and cheated. Don't ask advice because they will tell you absolutely anything to get a sale, infact they will tell you the the inferior product which has a bigger profit for them, is far better than the superior product just so they can make the con even better for themselves. Better still don't even look in their windows, walk straight by..

This company and few others in New York are taking full advantage of tourists and preying on their vulnerability and should be reported.

Avoid with your lfe! – Hi! I have just read the other comments! I went to this store while on holiday from the Uk 2 weeks ago. I bought a Zune which I was quite happy with. While waiting for my friend, the salesman still holding my card. He proceded to show me this item which was "bigger, better and would be the only thing i would ever need"! It was an isonic DV665 10 in 1 camcorder. It was $1,799. I told him I didnt want it but he carried on putting the battery and card reader in and taking my pic etc. Talk about hard sell!!! I still kept saying i didnt want it. He went away and came back saying he had refunded the money from my zune and so I could buy this one. I suddenly realised that the shop was empty apart from my friend and I and 5 big burly men. I was terrified. I still kept saying i didnt want it but after a while I thought I'd rather buy it and escape. So I did. Afterward I got angry and went back - only to be told - NO REFUNDS! I was given the printer $999 and another battery. It completely ruined my weekend. When I got back to uk I cannot find this item ANYWHERE. ( even on the internet!)

It really is disgusting how people can get away with doing business like this.

Avoid – We were attracted by a sign "Sale 49.90 Samsonite Oyster Luggage" which was affixed to a large Samsonite luggage. However, when we went in, they said that the said luggage was 100 instead and that the 49.90 ones were for the smaller luggage and were sold out. Alarm bells rang, but they had nice knick-knacks so I looked around. Apparently everything was selling for half-price. Again alarm bells should have rang. We were served by Edward and my wife happened to like Faberge-esq eggs on display. The price on the tags was 400 but Edward was willing to let us have an egg for 200 (apparently its an end of year sale - we were there in August but apparently their store's year end is August). We had never really seen these goose eyes on sale before so we were quite taken. In the end, we bought 2, only to come back and find out, after doing a Google search, that similar type eggs were retailing for around 84. Lesson learnt - always trust your instincts and whenever a salesman says everything is 50% off - RUN.
