There's no better spot in Las Vegas than the Stratosphere tower to try and give yourself cardiac arrest--sitting atop the 108-story tower, four rides (SkyJump, Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot) are ready to fling you into outer space, hang you off the side of the building, send you free falling nearly 900 feet, and take you on the roller coaster of your life.
This is an old hotel with a old time feel. The roller coaster was not scary. And it was a good value but the rooms were bad. You pay for what you get.
Not really on the strip – I guess techically it is located on the strip but it is so far north it seems completely disconected with the rest of the entertainment and excitment of the strip. We stayed four nights for less then $250. That's a bargin if you have ever stayed in vegas. If you dont have a car I would not recommend this hotel. It is too far from the other casinos on the strip. We had fun in the pool and at the pool party they have on certain nights. The beds are solid. Some people like that so I dont hold that against the hotel but if you like a softer bed you might want to concider somewhere else. We saw American Superstars and Bite for half price just by asking for a cupon at the front desk. The buffet and cafe were both good.
Great place to stay for affordable price – I have stayed here several times over the past years and have not yet been disappointed. They offer nice rooms for a very conservative price, which is why I keep going back. The staff is always been friendly and kind. The food is good at their restaurants and the shopping mall is where I can totally spend a lot of money. The best place to set the mood is the restaurant at the top called the top of the world. It has a great view of the strip at night and it rotates, very cool.
NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE AT ALL – sure the location is very scary, and you dont feel safe leaving your car in the garage, but the hotel is not bad at all, good sized rooms, clean and comfortable, bargain priced $79.00 on a friday night!! on the strip!! good gaming, bargain prices in there shoping area, if you are on a budget and you wont be venturing outside the casino at night it is a great bargan.
Look down from the highest heights of the city at the Stratosphere's 104th-floor observation tower. – In Short
This place is for adventurers. It's affordable and fun for guests who want to save their cash for exciting activities, from sling shot thrill rides to big time bets in the casino. An abundance of attractions includes the Roni Josef International Salon & Spa, a wedding chapel, the Tower Shops at Stratosphere Mall and the Broadway Showroom's long-running "Viva Las Vegas" afternoons and "American Superstars" evenings. Dining options include the Top of The World restaurant.
decent place, decent price – The room we had was fairly nice, all you should find in a hotel room, good A.C. Beds were comfortable. We had minor room problems and room service was very prompt. Express check-in is available and I would recommend it. The casino is nice, well spaced out with a tall roof so it does not get very smoky. Decent poker room. The buffet is a good value. Lucky's cafe has good steak specials.
Snack Bar Owners Need to Grocery Shop! – While visiting Vegas last month, we decided to stop at the Stratosphere for lunch and some arcade games one day. We walked around the shopping "mall" and stopped at this Argentinian(?) snack bar which seemed to have a good menu.
Well, we placed our orders and my son & I got our food. My husband, however, was informed that they ran out of the item that he asked for & he'd have to order something else. He picked something else out and sat down. A couple of minutes later, the girl beckoned and informed him that they ran out of THAT item as well. Turns out they didn't have much of anything. Never heard of a snack bar running out of groceries!
Great place to stay.... – This was a great pleace to stay! The rooms were very nice, and well kept. The casino is quite big. the waitresses come around often. What can I say, I won some$$ and lost some$$.
The buffet was an excellent deal, better than most.
We didn't get on the roller coaster ride at the top, we felt it was kind of pricey. So we opted out.
Over all a great this was a great place to stay, great views of the city and convenient to all attractions.
"TOP NOTCH" – Best "bang for the buck" on the strip! Booked 1 month in advance to avoid trouble and it worked perfectly. Tower room with jacuzzi tub was more than adequate. Service was fast and friendly. Great view. VERY loose slots and video poker! Excellent restaurants. Some type of free entertainment going on all the time. Not the best decorum but equally close to downtown on one side and strip on the other for seeing the sites. Best part was all employees went out of their way to assist us in any way and always with a smile.
