in response to all the bad reviews. I have been searching for the best schools of martial arts for a long time.

I know that not all schools are perfect but they strive to accomplish a great amount victories. petes karates school has been an outstanding school so far for me.

But wat is not true is that they are disrespectfull . they are very good people and dont desrespect no body they are strict yes they are but that is the fundament of a grat martial arts school.

Being strict has nothing to do with being disrespectful. They are totaly difrent subjects so have some respect . you dont like it thats why you are not there anymore, because you all belive that you were going to implant your own rules when no body is supossed to exept for the owners and the instructors.

If you did not like it the best thing you did was leave but do not blame your faliors into the instructors blame it on yourself for not being able to cope to the preasure.

To all you people who are searching for the best karate school visit us and experience for your self the diference of a grat school like peter allande karate school he is a "Hall of Fame fighter".

Thanks sensei pete and Shihan pete sr.

In Response to the last Review. I have had my son in Pete's Karate on two separate occasions. He initially started under the tutelage of Sensei Pete at 5 when frustrated with his behavior in school and needing to find him stronger male role models, I enrolled him. It was the best thing I ever did. My son became more assertive, disciplined and even his teachers saw a change in him. I initially brought him 3 times a week and eventually went on to bring him 5 times a week. I only pulled him out due to the distance. I realized last year that both my children needed to go back and as a family, sacrifices were made to do that. I'm glad I did.

I have never seen Shingon be disrespectful to either the students or the parents. His intensity and passion for the sport shows in everything he does and yes, Peter Allende Jr. is the Ying to his father's Yang. Both have the same commitment to the students, yet both have a different approach, with the same results. Shingon is so intense and that intensity can radiate to his students. Something we no longer see in an age where all kids are made to believe that "every one is a winner"...until they get to the real world and are faced with major disappointments they can recover from.

Children in this day and age are coddled way too much. They're treated like precious glass that is too easily broken. Why would you put your children in Karate and expect them to be treated like Princesses? Karate is a FIGHTING SPORT? Did you think they dance their way to a trophy? Shingon does not disrespect, but he's not going to 'baby' your child either. That won't help him/her win in the sport or at life. We already live in a world where we are taught everything is easy and we end up with teenagers on medications cause they can't cope with the harshness of high school? Ridiculous. Life is tough and full of road blocks. I brought my kids back to Pete's Karate because they're taught that when life throws a roadblock in front of them, they'll be able to kick it down!!!

When you have a child committed to learning and a parent who can appreciate and supplement the discipline it takes to strive towards greatness, you can't lose. As a matter of fact, Pete's Karate should ENHANCE the discipline your children should already be receiving AT HOME. Children who do well in Pete's Karate, (and it doesn't have to be in competitions, but during practice, in academia, and in life) have adults in their lives with the parenting skills it takes to raise successful children in any type of environment. No child is perfect, (mine are far from it), but blaming Pete's Karate on your children's failures will not help you or your child succeed at anything.

Regarding their teaching style. What good martial arts school gives you "curriculum"? There is a systematic way in which Pete's students are taught. If you had paid attention when your child was attending, you would have seen that.

Shingon is so proud of his students achievements both in and out of his school. When any of the children do well in academics, Shingon is quick to present their achievements to the class. This actually motivates my children to do better..they want Shingon to be proud on them!!

But the proof is in the pudding. Go to a competition in which Pete's Karate is competing. They always place high and 98% of the time it's either 1st or 2nd, (mostly 1st). No matter what type of program, Forms or

Sparring it doesn't matter, their students are the best. That is a true measure of a great school.

CONDESCENDING AND RUDE OWNER-. this person states that this school is not a day care, but yet leaves the student doing homework. Is also funny how this parent defines the owner as a "old school, intense individual, which some people may come across not understanding his way condes cending and rude individual. While is true that his son is new school, also a fact that his opinion does not count, for this organization. If you would like to see more, please ask around, especially all the parents that have left, because of the unprofessional way this person deals with the parents and students, talking to them like they are puppets. Sure! if you want a school that teaches values like have no respect for the individual and learn karate for their own benefits, or "real deal" yes this is the school for you! and please dont forget to whoever wrote this, that even though people dont say their names, because they know the intense of mr old school, there is still freedom of speech in the US that is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, meaning that parents are entitled an opinion other than yours! this are some characteristics that maybe should be integrated somewhere in your curriculum (if there's one: Characteristics of martial arts of the mainland are:

1.Since karate are practiced with two people, the roles of defense and offense are clearly defined so the use of the techniques is easy to understand.

2.There are instructional manuals. (Techniques are clear)

3.There is a system for advancement in rank.

4.The styles have names. (The lineage of instructors is clear.) It would be nice to see some kind of lesson plan, in writing about expectations, purpose and what is expected, but I just forgot: there's not even a contract!! In many parents books, this school does not offer organization, any potential, purpose or in any way teaches a future to any student other than show them how to be rude and disrespectful!!!

OH YESSSS!! THE FAMOUS COMPETITIONS!!!!!! Where the training is "make them bleed to go out and celebrate!" and if not a winner: prepare for being treated in the most condescending and rude way possible! You'll really enjoy this "pudding" and great way to motivate your child.! Completely understand why Ms Doughnut came back!! I will sure tell my children of this great academia in life and have them pursue it!! I mean, after all your child, my children and his committed learning is definitely on your book brings a twisted independent member of society for sure. I now get why there are so many psychopaths and nonfunctional people in this world, thank you for your insight.... the only failure is parent with your thinking when leaving and exposing any child in these kinds of environments. while it might of been a good start, the truth of the matter is that is way out of specif goals, instructions and motivational behavior in a lack of standards other than condescending and confrontational. As everyone knows, "nobody is perfect" but a condescending attitude isn’t difficult to recognize in someone else. I think it's hilarious when what most of the sane parents see displays of such arrogance... I assume that the knowledge your talking about the know it all's, and the speelcheckers here for example. All I have to say is that, if their so perfect in all their wisdom, how come they aren't posting their divine wisdom on some encyclopedia site? I'll tell you why, because they are so bored with their own pathetic lives they have nothing better to do, than to belittle other people, your children And that's the fact, "Barbara Donuts"

Pete's Karate -The Best Karate school without a doubt!. Ok! Here is the “REAL DEAL”.

I’m a parent and my daughter, is one of their students.

For all the comments made on this site, that are written, these individual(s) first:

1. Do not reveal who they really are - So how can you tell that the review is legitimate.

2. All negative feed back - If true, is a result of a person that was trying to bend the rules for his or her own benefit and not obeying the rules that are set in place by the instructors. (Remember we are not a Day care school)

3. The reason why other students "judge" - The Friday sparring sessions is to teach them how to become officials at the Karate tournaments. This not only helps develop the skill needed for this, but also allows the student to see the "action" from the inside...Where it matters the most.

So obviously the person or people writing these negative reviews don't know anything about Sport Karate and are novice to it.

I am not hiding behind any "aka's" or screen names, I will proudly say that Pete's Karate is the BEST school in town to learn the true art of SPORT KARATE!

The instructors and owners have helped many of their students, including my daughter to be able to get modeling jobs, movie deals and become champions recognized by NASKA and FAME2K circuits. Not only do they teach how to compete, but they also teach "real life" values that go beyond the karate life. If anyone is looking to join a karate school, and doesn't want to be "jipped" out of real training, then don't look anywhere else. Come and be taught by a Nationally Ranked instructor with over 26 years of experience. If you want to compete at the National Level, the training that you need is found here. I know, I take my daughter to not only regional but also national tournaments as well.

The belts here are earned, not given away. If you want a REAL Black Belt, earned by years of experience and hard work and real training, then this is the school for you.

The owners (Sensei Pete Jr. and Shihan Pete Sr.) know about "Hard Times", that's why they have implemented a "No Contract policy". If you fall into a rump then you can take some time off if you need to.

Shihan Pete Sr. who is 66 yrs of age is very "old school" and intense individual, which some people may come across not understanding his ways. On the other hand Sensei Pete Jr. who is 31 yrs of age now is from the "new School" with the Old school training and is very easy going for everyone.

If you would like to see more, I personally invite you to come see and try it for yourself. You will immediately see how Pete's Karate School is the "Real Deal".

amateur karate school. caution when registering your children in this particular "dojo". The person in charge has little lack of respect towards his attitude to parents and children. He sells this as a school and there is not a curriculum to follow, and one can see this on Fridays, where the children are fighting without any supervision and there is not instructors, but advance students supervising themselves. When there is a new prospective customer, the director abandon the class and disrespect others schools around to engage them in this gimmick. He presents the offer of not compromise to non attach one to the contract, the same as non curriculum, so he can do whatever he wants, disrespect who he wants with no compromise, be very cautions and aware before committing to this dream of illusion and where it only looks legit on the web.

THIS DOJO HAS MANY RULES THEY BREAK ON A DAILY BASIS AND PETER ALLENDE SR DO NOT SEEM TO CARE. This "dojo" has many rules that they break on a daily basis and do not seem to care, they are:

Treat everyone with courtesy and respect.

Very unrealistic. Shihan Peter Allende, Sr. will disrespect anyone despise of gender or age. He will not care if you are a woman or a 8 yr old student. Very uneducated individual.

No profanity or loud talking is allowed in the "dojo".

Not for the old guy. Shihan Peter Allende, Sr. will talk loud as he can, and will tell everything that the parents have told him confidentially. He will literally tell everyone's problem and personal situation even when parents have confide in him. He wont care who is beside him when he starts screaming or down talk any student or parent.

Do not criticize other students.

The staff member and Shihan Peter Allende, Sr. will criticise anyone without any fear or regardless who is present, the more, the better he will disrespect someone

THERE WILL BE NO SPARRING WITHOUT SUPERVISION OF AN INSTRUCTOR:

This statement is very untrue. There is no supervision of sparring (Fridays) The own students judge their same fights and have to figure things out. There is no staff supervising the students, the same students have to volunteer to serve as judges because there is no personal to attend the children. Shihan Peter Allende, Sr.is too busy bad mouthing other schools and students that come from other schools.

Overall, research first before going to this dojo, because you will find yourself in a mojo you want to come out FAST!!!!!

lack of profesionalism and are little people oriented. the owner and staff lack of professionalism and they are not people oriented. Peter (the owner) administrate a very disorganized school. There is no staff and children have to judge their own fights. The same students are the ones that volunteer to judge other students and penalize them for the most insignificant little detail, but does not teach the techniques appropriately. There is no structure or organization at all. I believe there is a limit in everything one do in life and if one pass those limits there are consequences. He's belief is to get beaten to learn and he will put white belts with yellow and purple belts against each other and, if the parent ask he starts yelling, and telling the parent that out there (the streets) they will harm them harder and do worst. It might be cheap but whats go inside that building is a lack of dissatisfaction from many parents. For him, nobody knows anything, specially if you come from another school, he will start bad mouthing other schools and condescendingly. He does not respect the students or their parents, so be careful before getting yourself into a bad taste situation.

Best Karate School in Town. Pete's Karate a traditional karate school. If you want to REALLY learn karate this is the school. The instructors are wonderful and work well with people of all ages, from 5-45. Compared to the other karate schools in this area, this one is most affordable, as well as the most knowledgeable. The owner is a national competitor and is in the karate hall of fame. He takes time to make sure each student gets the same amount of attention. My children love it there and I won't ever send them anywhere else.
