WORST SERVICE – This place has the worst service. 9/10 times I call they put me on hold forever. They say they have a baltimore location. They don't. And some proceedures they only do in their columbia location. Try to get in touch with the owner, Sonia, I dare you. You can really tell someone cares about their customers when they refuse to talk to them. Unless you want to pay her for a procedure that she is doing on you. Basically, she will only talk to you if you are paying her. What a money hungry woman. May as well be a used car salesman.
Wonderful Threading – I highly recommend Luna's Day Spa for threading. This is great for those with sensitive skin. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere very relaxing.
Love This Spa! – I have been going to Lunas day spa for years for awesome facials and massages. Great relaxing atmosphere! I have recently tried the Medi spa location in Columbia for Laser hair removal and was very happy with my services. Treatment room felt sanitized and clean. Technician was friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions. I would highly recommend the day spa and medi spa. Great places!!!!
Wonderful Spa! – I have been going to Luna's Day Spa for a year and have never been disappointed! I have received several different services (laser, peels, facials) and my skin looks fantastic!
The staff is always friendly and helpful and Sonia, the owner, has always answered any questions I might have either by phone or text in a timely fashion. And Tishna's facials are to die for!!! Although I have bought several skin products there over the year, I have never felt pressured to purchase anything. I highly recommend this spa!
Luna's Day Spa is the best spa I have been to – I have been going to Luna's Day Spa since it opened and I am thrilled with the service and the atmosphere. Sonia has been taking care of my skin and it looks so good. I get compliments all of the time from people asking me how my skin looks so good. I tell them to go to Luna's Day Spa. What I particularly like about Luna's besides the convenient location, and the beautiful surroundings, is the customized service for each treatment. Each skin care treatment is decided upon based upon the skin care needs of the client. The skin care products sold at Luna's are outstanding and have done wonders for my skin. The staff and the owner, Sonia, go out of their way to make you feel at home from the time you walk in until the time you walk out. The massage staff is great too. Just had a great massage yesterday, along with perfect waxing, and an Obagi peel. My skin today looks flawless. I have never found a day spa that even comes close to the level of perfection of Luna's. If you want a relaxing visit, with top notch treatment by professionals with many years of experience, go to Luna's.
Great Experience! – I had a great experience at Luna Med spa. I bought bikini laser txt from groupon. i wanted to do Brazilian instead of bikini and technician upgrade my txt to Brazilian. I had great result with only 3 txt. I will recommend this place for laser and peels!! very pleasant and educated staff.
Terrible Experience at the Columbia Office – I purchased two laser packages for use at Luna's Medi Spa; one for my bikini line and one for my underarms. I have gone to two of the three appointments and have had a terrible experiences both times.
When I scheduled my first appointment over the phone, I wasn't given ANY information on prep for the treated areas. I was told the bikini treatment would be applied one inch within my underwear line. At no point did the office ever contact me to remind me of my appointment nor did I receive any information via email or mail. Luckily, I remembered my appointment date and did have the common sense to shave the areas to be treated.
When I visited the spa for my first appointment the technician began the session by making fun of a previous client who "had failed to shave his back, due to the fact he was getting a divorce." I found this extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable.
The laser used at both of my sessions was outdated. It did not have a refrigerated/cool tip, so the procedure was quite painful. To minimize the pain a small mobile fan was directed at my armpits and groin. I wasn't given any disposable underwear to wear during the procedure, which is standard procedure. The gel used, and water which was applied using paper towels of all things, after the treatment both dripped down onto my clothing and underwear; neither of which I was told to remove. I question the sanitary of both. 1) I left with a huge wet spot on my dress, looking like I had urinated on myself. 2) If none of the clients are removing their underwear, how is the machine and table kept clean?
Also after my first appointment it seemed as though the laser was not used within my underwear line. But I thought maybe it was just too early to tell what the results would be.
Before my second appointment, I visited the spa's website to learn more about their business. The website stated, "No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however, some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated." After reading this I called the office and requested the topical anesthetic. I was told over the phone that it would cost $10 per area and that I'd need to arrive 30 minutes early for the lotion to work.
The day of my second appointment I arrived 30 minutes early. I told the receptionist that I was early to receive the anesthetic. I was told to have a seat and the Tech would get to me soon. While sitting in the waiting room I listened to the two receptionists badmouth other clients behind their backs. I was shocked. After 30 minutes of waiting, the Tech finally called me back. She told me at that Luna's didn't offer topical anesthetic; their insurance didn't cover it. When I told her I had talked with the receptionist twice about it and had confirmed it on their website. She then defiantly told me, "that would be for the face area." I proceeded to have the treatment without the option of numbing cream.
Weeks later it is now quite apparent that the 1" area within my underwear line has not been treated with the laser; whereas the hair outside my underwear line has come back thinner and finer.
Because of this error, along with the incompetent staff, the Tech's rude and unprofessional behavior, and lack of sanitary precautions, I will not be returning for the final treatment. Such a shame as I've had family and friends who've been extremely happy with their laser packages at other salons.
Stay away from their Columbia location!!!!! – Bought a laser hair removal package on Groupon for their Columbia location. The whole experience was 100% terrible and I was beyond disappointed with my service. They tried to rip me off and lasered very very little hair and told me that anything extra would be an upcharge. They definitely ripped me off b/c I was a Groupon customer. The technician was rude, mean, abrasive, and just started zapping. No prep, no test area, no discussion, nothing. I have had laser hair removal at two other places and they have gone through more discussions and prelim tests / procedures to warn you about the safety, health, etc. Terrible. I have complained to Groupon and am blasting them all over the internet b/c I want to warn people to stay away and not get ripped off by this mean and terrible company. There are MUCH better places to get laser hair removal.
Go elsewhere for microderm and facial – I went for a microdermabrasion because of the groupon sale. I also had a facial.
The front desk receptionist was friendly, handed me a pamphlet to pick out my facial. I picked on (and later found out it was $20 more than was listed in the pamphlet).
The microdermabrasion was so fast- she didn't do my nose, or my upper lip at all. The facial was ok, a bit rough. But when I left, I looked in the mirror and had all sorts of leftover mask on my face! I was peeling off pieces of the mask my whole drive home. It definitely felt like the woman was running to get out of there.
The room temperature was cold, my feet were freezing. And you can hear people walking around upstairs.
The restroom is weird... not really private.
Overall, it was not even worth the discounted price I paid for it.
Good massages – The staff has always been very nice and accommodating.
I've had three massages there and have not less unsatisfied once. The room's are private and relaxing.
The prices are affordable and they have good deals during christmas time.
It's a cute, little place under a hair salon. The only downside is you can hear the people upstairs walking around sometimes, but that's not enough to deter me from continuing to visit.
