Secruity is Wack – So myself, my boyfriend and a few other buddies came here to bring in the new year. The anoucement on the radio said ten dollars before 10, but they charged me 20 bucks...ok, cool, disappointed, but whatever. Got inside, warmed up, because of the overcrowed club that didn't take long at all. After my first drink, my man and I went straight to the dance floor. After that we kinda got shoved off the floor (not on purpose, but it was so packed, it was easy to get shifted) we ended up in so called private area that wasn't "roped-off" as a normal VIP area would be, and one of the guys told secruity to have my man leave because my man kept pulling me away from this guy who kept touchin me inappropriately. So the "gaurd" asked my man to leave the area, everything was cool from that point and i guess we weren't leaving quick enough and the secruity gaurd tries to wrestle my boyfriend and push him out the club, but my man was stronger than the 200plus lbs gaurd and he ended up throwing him to the ground. Pride got in the way so 3 other bouncers came and tossed him out of the club, still angry that none of them were able to throw him on the ground thats when they became physcial and hit him once in the face i know for a fact, and once in the neck. not one time did my man hit them, he just stood his ground by restraining them from trying to hit him. they ripped his shirt and bruised his neck. police came and guess what? they did nothing. told us we had to walk to their station if we did want to do a report, but there was nothing they could do because of it being a new year and too busy. Overall the club was ok, wouldn't go back, if my man could handle 3 big burly secruity gaurds they weigh more than 200lbs each, i don't feel safe, (at least with the gaurds..lol)

Wack – Look- i was a first timer just recently. Me n my friends all decided to try out a new "hot spot". Little did we knw, the place was gunna be wack. First of all, it is WAY too crowded in there. You cant stand anywhere to dance for more than 5 minutes before you're pushed by a gang of people. The club go-ers seem to do nothin but look for fights. There were at least 5 fights within 30 minutes of us being there. Thats ridiculous. The security was nuts, slammin into people left and right. Dnt they knw they are twice as big as most people that go there? Finally; the police that surround the nightclub.. dont even do their job. My girls car got broken into and everybodys purse got stolen. And what did the cops do? Not a damn thing. They wouldnt even write a police report... which is pretty well illegal. Needless to say, this club overall was wack. Who wants to go to a club thats so crowded you cant even breathe? Ill stick with my not so crowded, more secure clubs.

its good for the kids – Secrets in Dolton used to be a really nice place to go and party but now it is definetly overrated. Maybe I'm just getting older, the average age of the patrons i would say is about 24. Overrall the music is ok if you like gangsta rap and r n b all night long, if your into a little more upscale, this might not be the spot for you, dont get me wrong the club is exceptional, for a suburban club, it should be downtown, but the crowd is a little too immature and i've noticed some of the people there try to front or "stunt" a little too much. VIP area is nothing special anymore, anyone who buys a $50 bottle can get up there with a couple of friends. Even if you pay for drinks you can't chill at the bar, security i believe is trying to make a name for themselves for being the toughest crew around that dont take no mess or just the biggest adrenaline and testosterone pumped up jerks you ever wanna see. About 4 years ago it was the place to be, but now i'll leave it for the kids. If you're 21 -26 yrs old and like being around chics who think they are the best thing since sliced bread and guys who wanna be "ballers" I'd recommend it, but if you're grown and dont do hood spots I'd say not. Thursdays and Saturdays are the "hot" nights. Friday is more laidback, not so crowded.

Admission price was cool, drinks arent too expensive, club was nicely remodeled, friendly waitresses and bartenders, plenty of parking, good sound system, dj's were cool but security was too aggressive, crowd too young, place was too crowded

Decent Club – I've been going to Secrets off and on for about 8 years. I agree the clientele has fallen off. The club industry is so hard that alot of times the club has to lower it's entry standards to stay afloat. We saw the same thing happen to The Clique (E2)a few years back. The only hangup I have with Secrets that you can't stand at the bar and drink (which was brought up by another reviewer). But, any "large" club that you go to in the Chicago area has similiar rules. Overall though, Secrets is still one of the better clubs to go to in the South Suburbs.

Pros

1. Parking-free, relatively safe parking across the street

2. Cover-$10 for guys, $5 for ladies b4 11pm

3. Space-Nice size dance floor, 2 bars (although standing at the bar is issue.)

4. Easy access (a few blocks away from for 145th street exit of the Bishop Ford E-Way)

Cons

1. Entry standards lowered (see guys with gym shoes and shorts)

2. VIP access is like trying to break into the World Bank

3. On Friday and Saturday nights you will be hard press to find a place to stand, because it is so crowded.

4. Drink prices have increased (average around $6.50-$7)

well i go to secrets on thursdays and saturday and both days be crackin..i prefer thursday cause it's good deals on the drinks that day. the bouncers do be a little 'oc' but i think it be caused for because it be so packed the place need order, the bartenders cool they gone tell you the specials so you don't spend all yo money in the club..but they do need more seats in the place you kind of forced to go to vip to get a good seat..which ain't much money..but over all it's a pretty decent club.
