In Short
The owners of Fort Greene's popular Lou Lou opened their second French restaurant in Park Slope. Beamed ceiling, wood-planked floor and stained-glass lamps convey a country air, as does the soft, gentle lighting. The clientele reflects the neighborhood's diversity, all drawn by homey Gallic menu offerings like bouillabaisse, crepes, steak frites, and, of course, rustic French wines.

My boyfriend and I have gone back many times. The french onion soup is great as are the scallops. The crepes arent bad. Prices match the food quality and creativeness. The live music and or skipping cd's arent to my liking. It trys too hard to be trendy. The brunch on weekends is nice, particularly the french toast and crab and cheese omlette. It would have been a wonderful experience , except the service isnt very tentative. Ive waited a half hour for water and got asked every 5 minutes if i wanted a refill on coffee, yet was lacking a mug. I once watched a woman breast feed while her 11 person family watched and dined. It is quite annoying to be interrupted by screaming whining children that must be spoiled by their yuppie mommy and daddys to have them quited.Bottom line, if you are just going for the food, then you will be satisfied , but do not look for more, you will not recieve it here.

I went there with my friends. Yes it was 2 for 1 entree. Big mistake, I should say. First, we found a piece of plastic in a glass (the waitress didn't even say "sorry"). Then, we found an INSECT in SALAD. What did waitress say? "Oh, you didn't want it?". Poor joke...for poor food. Now I understand why the restaurant is so dark... so, open your eyes if you don't want to eat something other than you ordered. About food? Believe me, you can do better (I'm French).

Do you enjoy paying $75 per person, in cash, to eat while yuppie dad roots around under your table for his shrieking 3 year old?s Tonka truck? If you do, run, don?t walk, to this place. They love kids here.
