AMAZING Prices, Fun Staff, & New Location – First off, the store is no longer on Robertson Blvd, it's now located at 301 N. Canon in Beverly Hills (across the street from Rite Aide). Also, let me make clear I am not affiliated with the store, I despite Maxfield's on Melrose and neither I, nor anyone I know, will ever step foot in there again...talk about rude/snotty sales associates. But, at Maxfield's Bleu, it's a whole different story. As far as prices, let's see...an Alexander McQueen oxford, a Ric Owens jacket, and a pair of Prada dress pants...total spent three something. Last time I was there, a Miu Miu jacket, a pair of Gucci pants, and a pair of Balenciaga pants...total spent $250. If that sounds expensive, don't forget, with proper care (and basic fashion sense) these items will far outlast anything comparably priced. The stock seems to constantly be changing (with merchandise in the back waiting to come out) so befriend a sales associate or two (something which is entirely too easy to do at this store) and they will gladly look through the stockroom and/or contact you when something comes in. Be sure you have plenty of time and don't be afraid to get comfortable in the dressing room...with a no return policy you'll want to try everything on first. Also, from personal experience, decide before going in how much you want to spend...when you're buying Prada pants for $89 it's easy to get carried away. Also, they seem to always be having a 70-80% off sale, so don't be afraid to ask if the ticketed price is accurate.
If you've ever experienced Maxfield's on Melrose, get ready for a whole new experience. Same cutting edge fashion, but entirely different prices and employee attitude.
A sale not worth paying for – Came here with my girlfriend during a day of shopping and knowing the high regard Maxfields holds among fashionistas (even Karl Lagerfeld is a fan) we had pretty high expectations. Well, neither of us was impressed. The clothes look even cheaper and in worse shape than second-hand pieces you get at Out of the Closet -- and the prices? Try HUNDREDS of dollars - as if! In my opinion, the only people who would actually pay these 'discount' prices are those so desperate to have a designer label to make themselves feel important.
Designer duds for half price--so what if they're last season's styles? – In Short
Last season's fashions from sister store, Maxfield, land here with slashed prices--which can still be incredibly steep. The massive, airy store is inviting and rowdy, with pumping music, a gracious staff and a treasure-trove of designer duds crammed into racks and display cases. Hollywood starlets, Beverly Hills biggies, and the terminally hip flock here for fashion-forward, half-price threads.
