UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE – My husband ordered $1000.00 worth of barstools online- we opened them, and they were defective. The hydraulic system made the stool lower every time ANYONE sat on them Upon speaking with the mgr.- LIZ SCUDDER, she said she would "take care of it"- but sent emails saying they would charge US for shipping and re-stocking, even though the stools were defective. THEN- I would call her, she would blow sunshine up my skirt and again say she would get it taken care of- just needed more information for the mfg, and the owner- Matthew. Never called me back when she said she would, and then when I sent her an email saying her word was worthless and i was annoyed, she sent an email-obviously to the owner, but in ERROR, to me- saying that they should refuse the shipment because of our "large you know whats"...ARE YOU KIDDING ME....NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM....save yourselves from the abuse!!! What HORRIBLE customer service- she should be fired, and Matthew izzo should be ashamed!
One of Philly’s most admired artists moves to Old City. – One of Philly’s most admired artists and furniture designers/retailers keeps us on our toes with a move to Old City. In an attempt to re-energize his bricks-and-mortar business (as opposed to his online business, which is thriving), Matthew Izzo has moved his furniture and clothing operation to Old City. Izzo will return to his roots by once again featuring a gallery that highlights paintings and art alongside his wares, which include some of his own. The first floor displays men’s and women’s clothing designed for the funky fashionista, and the second floor caters to the home owner with offbeat modern tastes.
basically a furniture salesman – MI claims to be an interior designer, but you'll quickly learn that he's a glorified furniture salesman. He doesn't come up with great design ideas, just shows you photos of furniture from his choice companies for you to buy. Deliver is seldom within the time frame provided by him and his staff (his mother and a few college kids). We also found that whilst you pay him a fee to come to your home to measure and see what he's working with that he often recommends furniture that can not physically fit in the space! He missed scheduled appointments with us and was very slow to respond to calls and emails.
Unfortunately his attitude and working practices do not go down well with a community focused friendly Philly. Whilst I can't confirm this is true, I recently heard that suppliers are refusing to sell to him because of his attitude and way of doing business and he's closing down his 13th St location already.
Since you can access the companies Matthew Izzo buys from, there doesn't seem to be any gain in working with someone to just buy furniture for you. Save your time and commission.

This gallery-like shop, located on Antique Row, provides patrons with a refreshing new shopping option. The store features the work of local artists as well as its own line of beaded jewelry. Shoppers also can find modern furniture, custom-scented candles, lavish pillows, clothing, and bath and body products for men and women. This local gem is the perfect place to pick up a gift.
