AWESOME PLACE – I HAVE RECEIVED MANY MASSSAGES BEFORE, BUT THIS COMPANY WAS AWESOME, THE RECEPTIONIST NANDI WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL, I GREETED BY MY THERAPIST HER NAME WAS TINEKA , SHE WALKED ME TO MY ROOM IT WAS LIKE I WAS IN A DIFFERENT WORLD THE WAY SHE HAD IT SET UP,SHE HAS A GIFT IN HER HANDS, EVEN THOUGH I ARRIVED EARLY SHE STARTED ME RIGHT AWAY AND EVEN ADDED AN EXTRA TIME. VERY ATTENTIVE I FELT RELAXED AND REJUVENTED WHEN SHE FINISHED. GREAT JOB . I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TINEKAWHEN GOING TO MASSAGE COMPANY BRENTWOOD. MAKE SURE YOUR BOOK EARLY.
great price great massage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! – A co-worker recommended this place to me and i decided to give it a try. I walked in with neck/shoulder pain and my therapist recommended deep tissue. the massage was fabulous and my therapist worked my problem areas. The price is $49.00 but they gave me $5.00 off. I highly recommend this place
PROS: professional and friendly environment, great location
CONS: nothing fancy, not a SPA
Horrible place – The Massage Company was a horrible experience. The place is dirty, and the masseuse doesn't listen to direction.
When you get a massage, to help you relax, they're supposed to put on soothing music. I had Irish folk music, that was too loud and fast. And the stereo didn't work....it kept skipping!
They're also supposed to turn down the lights. She didn't. The lights were ALL THE WAY up. When I turned over, I looked up and saw the grime and dirt all over the air conditioning vent!
For a better, more professional experience, go to the Massage Place in Brentwood, 2 minutes north of there.
Great massage! – I went to the massage place today for the first time and the service was excellent. The girls at the front desk were laughing and joking with each other and seemed happy all around and the massage was fantastic, couldn't ask for more!
gets the job done – This isn't Burke Williams, so let's keep what I say in context.
This place is right down the street from me and it?s generally been pretty reliable. They fill up quickly near the end of the week, but if you book early (and the later in the day the better considering the children's place next door) you won't have a problem securing an appointment. I've been to Burke William in Santa Monica and that place was great, but just strictly comparing the massages I've gotten at both of these places, I can hardly tell the difference. You can't expect to have spa-like treatment, because this is purely a massage parlor- nothing more, nothing less.
The staff is pretty friendly and I've never been shortchanged for minutes. In fact, the last time I went, my masseuse continued an extra 15 minutes because he wanted to "completely take out all my knots in my upper back."
For $40 bucks an hour, this place is a bargain for people that don't care much for the fufu steam rooms and showers.
THE WORST EVER! – Ive gotten different types of massages from many different companies, luxury to no frills. This was the WORST. My appointment was at 6:00 p.m. I arrived 10 min. early and no one greeted me. I gave a girl my name. She didnt seem to care. She barely glanced at me then continued a side conversation. Also, they did not have me fill out a form to find out if I wanted to work on particular areas. At 6:00, someone asked me to go into a room. She didnt introduce herself and I didnt know if she was my therapist. She told me to hang my clothes and said she would be back. She came back 14 min. later. She began at 6:14. She still didnt introduce herself and didnt ask me any questions (ie: if there were any areas of concern). 5 min into it, I asked her if she could add more pressure. She said NO and If I wanted more pressure, I would have to pay for a deep tissue massage. I explained that I had received many different types of massages and that a deep tisue was not what I wanted. I barely felt the massage. I contemplated leaving, but decided to stay. Then she finished the massage at 7:07 p.m. - 7 minutes early. When she finished, she said "You're all done" - then left. I dressed/exited- their was no thanks or glass of water. My therapist handed me over to another lady for payment. When I explained to the other lady what ocurred she didn't seem to care. She offered to phone a manager, who may not even be available and it was unlikely anything would happen. I paid and left (I didnt tip). I tried phoning the head office, which is just an answering machine. Finally I got a hold of a manager 3 days later. Here were his comments:
1. ending 7 min early was not a big deal
2. He knew about the difficult attitudes at that location
3. I should have received more pressure like I asked
4. I could use the Santa Monica location at 20% off my next massage
No apology!! At the Massage Co, they don't care about customer service or quality control! Do not use Massage Co.!!
If you go, go after 6pm – My massage was schedule for 3pm. Big mistake. Their is a children's haircutting place right next door and walls are as thin as can be. I didn't even have my massage because it was too noisy! They said to come after 6pm when the salon next door closes. The staff was very nice and I have heard that they give a great massage. Just go after 6pm!!
Mixed Review – My first professional massage was at this location. My massage therapist was great. She did a deep tissue massage. So far she has been the best of the (3) professional massages that I have had.
The second time here was pretty disappointing. First she was late coming out. My massage therapist seemed like she was just rubbing lotion on my skin the entire time. Although I know it was Swedish, I barely felt anything at all. She seemed really amateur.
So the enjoyment of this location probably depends on who you get.
The location is pretty crummy too. It's on the outskirts of Brentwood.
Not worth it -- even for $39 – I arrived 10 minutes early for a deep tissue (a $10 add on to the base price of $39). No one was at the reception desk and I heard the answering machine pick up a message from two therapists running late. The waiting area for clients was also the entrance for staff -- so after 15 of waiting, I saw the therapist walk in explaining that she had called and asking if she had a client waiting -- me. Not relaxing.
Changed in the massage room -- no robe. No music. During the massage, through the wall I heard what sounded like a three year old's first birthday party. Learned my therapist had less than one year of experience. Left feeling like the best part of the experience was getting out of there. Also, my neck and shoulders were still sore. For $60 (with tip), it was no bargain.
