Super convenient for a bite before events at the Key or Seattle Center, though the best value is to be had at lunch time.
best thai food in seattle.
I use to laugh about the name with co-workers. But the food and service is anything but to be laughed at.
This place has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the Puget Sound area...not just Seattle.
The food is great and flavorful. Check out the green papaya salad. Wow, talk about great flavors exploding in your mouth. It's not like this restaurant is close to our house either. But it's worth the drive and the parking.
One of my Fav's. I go to Phuket as often as I can. My co-workers and I are always going here and I am always trying to bring new people. The food is great, the location is great and the service as well.
Great find! Easy walking distance to Key Arena..
My wife and I had about three hours to dawdle around before the show at Key Arena and we were both a bit hungry so we decided to walk and see what looked good. I'm a big fan of Thai food, while she usually sticks with Phad Thai. We saw Phuket's sign and decided to try it. Good choice! The descriptions of some of the dishes is the same except for the name of the meat (chicken, beef or pork). I ordered the Waterfall Beef - an all time favorite of mine - and mentioned that one of the other dishes sounded like it could be called "Waterfall Pork". The waitress didn't even bat an eye: "You can have Waterfall Pork if you'd like." I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! My wife tried the "Rama" - chicken in peanut sauce over just-barely-grilled spinach. She, too, was very happy.
It could have been spicier, but we'll just have to remember that next time -- and there will definitely be a next time!
One of the Best!. Simply: This is one of the best Thai places in Seattle. Our waiter, "Tommy" was excellent and our food was vibrant and fresh. Bravo!
Good ambience. I agree that some of the food isn't as spicy as I would prefer, but the service and the ambience are really good. You can also eat at the bar and watch your food being prepared. Try a booth for sure for a nice experience. The servers are always smiling and in a good mood.
Where's the Zing?. I guess I'm picky or a lover of spice or both. Phuket is totally average Thai food. Not bad but not great. I ordered a three star which lacked any spice and tasted like less than a one star. I like my spice! The Phad Thai was really sweet which was good but it had absolutely no hotness to it at all. A three should be spicy and a five should knock your socks off! I recommend Thai Tom, Chada Thai, Thaiger Room, or Siam over Phuket anyday.
NOT SO HOT.
While some of the women that work here are extremely HOT, the food and service they provide is cool at best. On a few occasions I have gone and they totally mess up the order. They either don't bring you your food at all or give you something totally different from what you ordered.
While the quality of food is better than some Thai places in the neighborhood, they need to get their service up to snuff before more people catch on that they just can't get it right.
I enjoyed it..
Coming from a Thai background, I'm picky about Thai food. I definitely hate it when the dishes are prepared too sweet. I enjoyed the food at Phuket, and although I've only been once but I'll definitely go back.
The menu is really limited and the Kool-Aid promotion weird, but I liked the Larb Gai and Pineapple Curry Fried Rice. The taste of the food was more authentic.
The people seemed so nice and friendly, and really wanted to please you. It's less of a professional restaurant, and more of a laid-back in a Thai way kind of place.
Plastic Cups?. I can't believe this place is getting good ratings. They serve drinks in purple plastic cups that I can imagine little kids chewing on and leaving their teeth marks. They serve KOOL-AID and only have about 5 items on their menu.
Not a 10!. I think some of the initial reviews must have come from staff/friends/family. It's a good place, but certainly not a 10. The menu is EXTREMELY LIMITED. The food was good, the portions were decent (although skimpy on the meat!). The dinners were not served "family style" and were difficult to share. Peanut sauce on Q.A. dinner runny but very flavorful. Red curry nothing remarkable. What's up with the Kool-Aid promo? Buy five dinners and get a free Kool-Aid hat...bizarre! Give Phuket a try if your catching a flick at the Uptown Cinema (a couple doors down) but don't make a special trip for a meal here.
