They deliver – I've been hitting up this Thai restaurant for a couple of years now. I love that they deliver (after 5pm) which is perfect for those lazy rainy nights.
Great food and I can't complain about the service too much since they knew exactly where to deliver the food to after a few deliveries. :)
Charged twice as much as the menu stated. – Unfortunately it's the bad experiences that stick in our minds.
I ordered from them on 10/07/08. The food was edible. Even without my experience I wouldn't have ordered from there again. When I called to see if they delivered I asked if they had a website with a menu since city search didn't have one listed. They gave me the address so I could order the food. They took almost 1.5 hours to arrive. The poor boy got very lost and I ended up walking a block to meet him. There was a language barrier and it was just easier. I didn't even look at the receipt until I got back home. That is when I realized there must be a problem. My total was over $30 dollars. According to the website I was charged almost twice as much. When I called to address the mistake a very nice girl informed me of the "updated" prices. She said this wasn't the first time this had happened, and she had been on the owner to update the menu online. I gave her my name and number and asked that the owner call me back. I never heard back. According to the menu: The stated price of the Spring Rolls was $4.50--charged $6.50, the stated price of the noodle dish was $6.50--charged $8.50, the stated price of the scallop and prawn dish (that no longer has prawns) was $8.50--I was charged $13.50. $5 more for a meal and you don't find it important to update your menu. That is unethical. Beware.
The most incredible thai food I've ever had! – I am not a thai food person. But when I stopped in at this cozy little spot in Fremont, I fell head-over-heels in love with their food. The orange chicken is made with real, fresh strips of orange zest! It is the most fantastic orange chicken I've ever had. I always make a pig of myself by ordering it with a side of rice and maybe some veggies... all for myself! My boyfriend is lucky if I let him have any.
It's situated in an older house-come-restaurant, and feels like home. This would also be a great place for a date, since the staff is so friendly, polite, and come when you want them, not when you don't. The atmosphere is also very much something to be desired in the current scene of hipster bars and rude patrons. One cannot help but feel at ease in this place.
I've dined at Chillie's Paste with close friends, and they've always raved over the food. You cannot go wrong here. Even when ordering take out, they seem genuinely glad to see you enjoying their food, and offer tea while you wait. Please try Chillie's Paste. It's one of Seattle's best kept secrets.
Awful service. – The service is AWFUL. But I have to say their food is good.
I really have enjoyed that they deliver... and I order out a lot.
But I have been treated very rudely by the girl who often answers the phone... I have over looked it in the past because I just want some decent thai delivered and I don't want to cook...
But after tonight I think I will find a new place. I called to order take out. The girl who answered the phone asked "how may I help you?" I said I wanted to order delivery. She mumbled something that sounded like "hold on"... then I sat for 5 minutes and listened to her carry on a personal conversation with a woman in the restaurant.
I learned that she thinks she needs to lose weight and that the woman has just moved... and that they just went on vacation... and oh how blue the water is... They chatted on and on....hmmm she just couldn't decide what color to paint her living room... blah blah....
I was really confused. I wondered if she thought the call had dropped and not placed the phone down properly... Even though I wanted to hang up... even MORE I wanted to find out what the heck was going on!
Literally after 5 minutes (on my cell phone) she came back to the phone with a sharp, "ok what do you want?"
I couldn't believe it. I told her I thought that what she just did was super unprofessional and rude. I told her I could hear the entire conversation and that I was SHOCKED that she'd carry on such babble while a customer was waiting. I told her a least actually put me on hold so I am not so aware I am getting passed over for idle chatter!
I told her I suddenly lost my appetite for Chili Paste... but that I wanted to speak to her manager. Of course no manager was around...
Fair warning. The service is horrible!!!!!!!!!!
Cheery neighborhood cafe turns out typical Thai from the fringes of Fremont. – In Short
An older, renovated bungalow houses this cozy restaurant located on the outskirts of Fremont. Bright orange walls, a few Thai portraits and the building itself provide charm; the surrounding neighborhood provides a steady supply of students and young couples. Chewy chunks of calamari, deep-fried in a crisp batter and served with a sweet dipping sauce is a good bet, as is savory pad thai and simple dessert of fresh mango and sweet, sticky rice.
Good food, Bad Owner – I've ordered from this restaurant many times and had it delivered, but the last time I ordered I was told by the owner that they don't deliver to my area. I live a mile and a half away! It takes less than ten minutes to get to my place from the restaurant! He said I should have ordered earlier, like shortly after 5pm. Well...I wasn't hungry at 5pm, I was hungry at 7:30pm. Excuse me for not being hungry at your convenience! He made me feel as though I was inconveniencing him and his staff and that is no way to run a restaurant or any other kind of business. As tasty as many of the dishes they offer are, I will never order from them again.
Super fast delivery !! – We ordered the foods to be delivered, and it was amazingly fast . The foods was so great.
I would recommend to try their yummy foods.
Horrible Service – We received their pamphlet in the mail with their menu and decided to order from them (as we had once before already) when the lady said that they never delivered in our area (which was weird cause they had before). She wasn't even nice about it. When I asked about receiving her pamphlet she asked us how much we were ordering and once we said under 20 she said that they dont deliver. Their supposed delivery area ends 3 streets south of us. And I think that it was unreasonable for them to deny us ordering just cause we weren't ordering a lot of food. If we hadn't received their pamphlet it would have been ok but to solicit us and then treat us like crap was not nice. Their food (having had it once before) was just ok but i guess its good for the money.
Great curry – Excellent curries and noodle dishes, everything is always tasty!
Good spice level, too.
Best Thai restaurant in Seattle!!! – Don't believe the rating. This restaurant is the best place for Thai food. No ketchup in Pad Thai. I tried every restaurant in Frement and this restaurant has the best food. The food price is acceptable (a bit cheap) and the chef is very nice and give you a lot of food. Everytime, I have to ask them for a box.
