Great food but cigar smoke ruined a special evening. Our party looked forward to a great dinner to celebrate a birthday. The waiter was attentive but snooty and aloof. But what ruined the experience for us was the two inconsiderate CIGAR smokers at the bar, blowing their disgusting smoke into the eating area.

The food was excellent but we became nauseated from the stench. To the owner: listen up- establish a no cigar smoking policy. We won't be returning.

Romantic, Food was worth every dime, service couldn't have been better.. My Girlfriend of two and a half years went to Larco's for Valentines Day about two years ago. I remember a great surf and turf. I mean gooood! One of the best in Detroit. The waiter was always their to get a drink or a new fork. And the drinks were stiff just the way I like them. I'm actually going there tonight to celebrate Valentines day with my girlfriend again. Easily our favorite italian restaurant in Detroit. I feel bad for the Miserable B-day but it sounds like you went to a totally different restaurant. After tonight I'll write again and tell you if it was just as good as I remember.

Miserable b-day. I treated my boyfriend to Larco's about 1 1/2 years ago. The restaurant wasn't very busy but after being seated in the bar area we were not acknowledged for 20 minutes. Had to ask for water and menus and waited over 40 minutes before our order was taken. Almost a full hour passed before our food arrived. My filet tasted like it was prepared in road salt and it was tough. We were not checked on during our meal. I told the hostess about the poor service and to make sure that the manager was aware of it. She sent to us a man that had sat nearby at the bar most of the night polishing glasses. He offered no apology and only told us that he was short-staffed. In his defense, he did offer us a cappucino (declined)! Definitely not worth the 80 some dollars I spent .
