What happened to Frank? – I would go to Fingers for the entertainment on Friday nights. The piano player, Frank, was fabulous. He has a tremendous voice, a great personality, and is a great piano player. I would put up with the food, the service and smoke from the bar just for that reason. Although the owner, Roberto, was very congenial, the waitresses were rude and made you feel like they couldn't wait for you to leave and sometimes the "smoke free" dining room was anything but that. Even though the menu has a variety of appetizers and entrees to choose from it was always a disappointment. But the entertainment made up for all that. I must say that the deserts were homemade and aboslutely delicious. I went in to Fingers recently on a Friday night and find that Frank is no longer playing there so I will no longer patronize Fingers. He was the reason I and my friends dined there on Friday nights. Now they have nothing to offer that would make up for the lousy service and mediocre food.
Great down to Earth Italian/Irish Restaurant! – Fingers is a fun and entertaining restaurant with delicious food that's worth the money! The food ranges from Italian dishes to Irish favorites like Fish & Chips and the famous Irish Breakfast! It has a warm and cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. It's a great place for down to earth people!
Don't go to Fingers – Attempted to eat at Fingers last evening. When the waitress asked my friend and myself if we wanted something to drink, I gave her these coupons we got from our local paper, for a free glass of wine. She refused to honor them even though the expiration date was 12/31/07. She was extremely rude and unprofessional that we decided to leave at this point. Fingers was bad before, but it is worse now. This waitress needs to learn some people skills. Left and went to Chestnut Hill and had a very nice dinner at Campbell's (for a lot less than what we would have paid at Fingers, prices too high for what was on the menu). Big disappointment.
bait and switch - stay away, you've been warned. – It looks like an inviting restaurant and bar on the outside. and that's just what I was looking for last night. The sign says "steaks, chops, late night snacks". I thought I found paydirt. My mood was for just that. A little grease; maybe a steak and some fries. Get this - it's an Italian place. And, it's expensive. All the entries are about $20+. The price would have been OK with me, had I known what I was getting in to. But I felt subject to a bait and switch. Further, it wasn't all that good. Our waiter didn't speak English all that well, and messed our order up. What really ruined it was the live entertainment. The dining room ambiance was just dandy when we arrived. but a few minutes after we got there this 3rd rate guitar player/ singer took over. He was joined by a pianist who was OK, but it's clear that they haven't played together much, because they just weren't in sync. The guitarist's instrument was not in tune with the piano, and his singing voice was an irritating distraction. for two songs an infirmed diner took the mic and sang some old jazz standards which were really quite delightful. but as soon as he left, the guitarist took over and I just had to get my check and split.
