Great authentic Cantonese food! – This is the place to go for great dim sum and authentic Cantonese cuisine. The wait can be really long on weekends for dim sum so if you're not a patient diner then I would go someplace else but man you will miss some pretty good dim sum. The dinner menu is traditional Cantonese served in large portions so this place is really great for large parties of family and friends.
Excellent! – This is the best and most authentic Chinese I've had! The atmosphere is bustling and friendly. The food is amazing, to say the least. However, parking is no picnic. There are large crowds once time nears closer to noon. The place opens at 10 and once they've been open a little over an hour, it is packed in there. The waiters are a great help if you trust them, but their English is not so great and my understanding of Chinese does not go past "Dim Sum." Needless to say, this can cause a communication issue. Regardless, the experience if definitely worth it. If you come for lunch, try the peking duck served with buns. It's excellent!
Great dim sum – NBC is a great traditional dim sum place. The food still comes in carts - which is good for the authentic feel - but unforutnately, because of that - the food also suffers since it can get cold. The restaurant is always crowded - so it's noisey - but that's the environment you're supposed to eat dim sum in.
Good traditional dim sum – This place has been around for so long, always serving good dim sum although nothing too interesting. The dim sum is a bit oily though, but they have a lot of variety. Dim sum comes in carts, but things aren't always as hot as they should be. Go early because lines get long!
Best Dim Sum, best value, great Chinese food. – As a Chinese, I have eaten in many Chinese restaurant in the LA area. This is the best dim sum place I ever had(so far) , very good chnese food, definitely worth the money. The only bad thing is the parking, They have very little parking spaces for their parking lot.
Local favorite rises above the competition with fresh seafood and outstanding Chinese classics. – In Short
Large groups flock to this popular seafood palace for family-style meals and fresh seafood. Enormous glass tanks with giant, rare imported fish are stationed by the entrance, and half a dozen more bubble inside the restaurant. Service is fast and friendly. Fish and seafood fresh out of the tanks are consistent draws, along with the authentic dim sum, but NBC is equally famous for top-notch Chinese standards. It has one of the tastiest Peking ducks in town, best ordered "two ways," one with crisp, browned skin nestled in tiny buns, the other with finely chopped ham and crunchy water chestnuts wrapped in iced lettuce leaves. House-specialty winter melon soup hints of duck, forest mushrooms and pale melon flesh. Deep-fried tofu with scallops melt in your mouth. The velvety peanut tapioca makes for a lovely dessert.
Another good weekend morning! – This is the original Dim Sum restaurant (if you go in the mornings) in San Gabriel Valley. The carts are filled with many, many varieties of dumplings and desserts. A vast selection of exotic food inventions by their artistic chefs! It's always good to go early in the morning on the weekends and the wait can be pretty long. Avoid evening dinners here on weekends where most wedding banquets are booked...and it can get pretty loud!
Good Eats – This is good authentic chinese food, the resturant is perfect for large events. i should know, i had my wedding reception at the resturant and had 35 tables reserved, with more than enough space for all the activties planned
Very good food – Food is very good; popular dishes such as HarGow or SuiMei are readily available. Only drawback is the long wait after 11:30am!
Authentic Chinese – This is truly an authentic Chinese restaurant. Often times, when you order seafood, the live specimine is brought to your table for approval before it is prepared. The best Salt Baked Squid (actually fried) I have ever had.
Best if you visit the restaurant with someone who is fluent in Chinese. While all the waiters speak English, They are not as fluent as you would like, and the better dishes are not on the menu all the time. Many times it is best to ask (what is good today).
Can be noisy, lots of weekend wedding banquets going on.
