Poor Food, Poor Service, Not A Sports Bar – The food was average at best. The service was fair. They add an automatic 16% gratuity to all checks regardless of the number of people eating. Don’t expect them to tell you this either because they don’t. Makes me wonder how many people actually add additional gratuity and don’t realize they’ve tipped twice. I normally would not expect to have an automatic tip for one person and I just happened to notice this as I signed my credit card receipt. I suggested to the waitress they let people know about their gratuity policy verbally and was simply told “it’s written on the menu”!

The reason I chose this place was that they had at least 8 TV’s with sports showing and I was there to watch game 6 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. I asked if they would put the game on one of the main TV’s. They finally did get it on of the side TV’s. I then asked if they could turn the crappy 80’s music off and turn the sound for the game on and I was told the only games that they turn the sound up on are Saints games. Don’t let all the TV’s fool you into believing this is a sports bar because it’s not!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - unless you want to get ripped off!! – Its hard to decide what's the worst thing about this place - the average but entirely overpriced food, the horrible service, the automatic 16% added gratuity on the horrible service or the fact that management argues with you when you try to resolve a problem.

I went with a friend during Mardi Gras with a friend for lunch. The food was ok- I probably wouldn't go back but it wasn't horrible. Our service appeared drunk, SERIOUSLY, and told us a story about how he took a cab to work and found a digital camera in the cab and kept it (NICE ONE CHAD- way to be an honest and decent person!!)

The bill was $58.85 to which they added 16% automatically ON A PARTY OF TWO. So the total with tax ended up being $74.01 which my friend and I split the check. I paid $37.01 and my friend $37.00. That should be the end of it. I have the signed copy as does my friend. WRONG.

I called the manager when I found out that they charged me the FULL $74.01. In the course of the conversation the manager asked me if I had called earlier which I said I hadn't. Apparently he admitted that its happened "a few times". Honestly, I didnt' discover it untill I was reconciling my checkbook a month later- so this has been going on a LONG time. He explained that it happens when the server doesn't close out the ticket properly even AFTER the two cards were swiped and signed.

The manager started arguing with me when I told him that it wasn't my fault his server didn't do his job properly and I was disputing the charge with my bank. I actually had to hang up on him because he started yelling about it.

AVOID this place. Try Oceana!!

THEY THOUGHT IT WAS SO GOOD THEY CHARGED THEM TWICE – MY SON IS WITH A SERVICE ORGANIZATION HELPING TO REBUILD HOMES IN DOWNTOWN NEW ORLEANS. LAST WEEK HIS GROUP HAD DINNER HERE, THE LOCALS TOLD THEM IT WAS A GOOD PLACE TO WATCH THE TOURNAMENT, ALL THE BIG SCREENS. THE CHECKS CAME AND THE NEW WAITRESS TOLD THEM SHE COULD ONLY TAKE 2 CARDS, EVERYONE ELSE WOULD HAVE TO PAY CASH. THE CASH CUSTOMERS PAID THEIR BILLS, THEN THE ENTIRE GROUPS BILL WAS CHARGED TO MY SON'S CARD. HE WILL GET HIS MONEY REFUNDED TO HIM BY HIS BANK, HIS RECEIPT, SHOWS $37, HIS CARD WAS CHARGED $157; THE NEXT DAY HE RETURNED TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE "MISTAKE". THE GENERAL MANAGER TOLD HIM THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO AND SLAMMED THE DOOR IN HIS FACE. NICE WAY TO TREAT SOMEONE WHO'S THERE TRYING TO HELP OUT THE COMMUNITY.......

Sad experience – Went there to have raw oysters. The waitress waited for us to have started on our drinks to mention that they were "out of oysters". So we had a pound of shrimp instead. They were hard, overcooked and too salty. I had a glass of wine but asked for a glass waiter after paying the bill (the salty shrimp...). The waitress said she was not allowed to serve tap water... I'm a local, but I felt ashamed thinking that tourists may have had the same sad experience
