It's the pits.....go to shorty's – This mom and pop joint is a total dump. The service is ridiculously slow, and incompetent. The "cooks" looked like delinquents that came out of the nearby jail, and the food really isn't that amazing. I don't know why this is "the best bbq in miami" according to everyone! It really is no different from Shorty's, at least Shorty's has friendly and fast service.
The famous "BISCUITS" they are not biscuits i'm sorry! Those oversized fried THAI DONUTS were not biscuits!
The ribs my boyfriend had with his chicken and ribs combo were VERY undercooked, so he didn't eat them, we didn't even bother telling the staff since they were pretty rude, and it looked like they just wanted to go home and close shop.
Trust me SAVE YOUR GAS.
Best bbq in Miami – Ok, I'm Cuban, what do I know about real bbq? But I do know one thing, and that is taste. I have been to many bbq places in Florida, and have to admit that this one is by far my favorite. Only downfall, no ac, but who cares when the food is so good? The portions are huge, and the fried biscuits are out of this world. I highly recommend the drive.
Ribs, frog legs, catfish, corn on the cob and pony rides. What else could you ask for? – In Short
The Pit's cole slaw is crunchy, creamy and spiked with a hint of relish and pepper. Meaty chunks of pork ribs are served with three different sauces, from smooth and sweet to smoky-hot. Frog legs fried in light, golden batter and chicken done on the bone or in tiny bite-size pieces are especially good for kids. The Key lime pie will satisfy a sweet tooth, which is good because it's the only option for dessert.
User review by harveydog – I think this place is great. I loved the BBQ Ribs and the key lime pie. It's run down but who cares, it has an old florida feeling and the food is good. It's not a french restaurant just some good BBQ.
Worth the trip! – Don't listen to the guy that gave a negative review. I have traveled the country and had great BBQ also. While The Pit is not the best I have had, it is some of the best I've had in Miami. Ribs were cooked to perfection, great slaw, awesome sauce, and those fried bisquits...mmm!
this place is a loser – Having traveled this country and tasted everything from texas brisket to st louis ribs, carolina pulled pork dont forget nashville, memphis, kansas city THIS PLACE PLAIN SUCKS...... ok the cole slaw and those two fried rolls were ok . The brisket stunk the ribs dont fall off the bone the baked beans very weak .The sad fact this place comes soooo highly recommended both with the press and public sorry yall never tasted real BBQ if i lived next door i woulnt walk over LET ALONE DRIVE 40+ miles
Miami's ABC – Your typical Mom-Pop joint. The best bar-b-q I've ever had! Pretty far for most but so worth driving out there! There's nothing like it! Looks a lil' run down but you're gonna love it!! Guaranteed! Everyone does! (Recommend eating outside)
