First lunch there today. I will be back! – Had the red curry with pork today. It was my first time there and I was impressed. Flavors were all there, and the spice was right on! Everything was pretty traditional as it seems they don't want to bother trying to be one of the new "hip" fusion joints. This is a good thing. I am looking forward to coming back again and again.
Really great food! Friendly service. – This was our first time at Arunee House tonight. I'd like to mention the service was terrific; very friendly and very attentive. Few places have this level of service. I make mention of this in contrast to what's been written here. That said, the food was very tasty and plentiful. The menu is extensive. The Pad Woon Sen was delicious, with more vegetables than typical, but in a very good way. The Arunee house fried rice was also delicious, made with Chinese sausages that were very good. Also had the shrimp toast and it was among the best I've had. Big servings, but avoid the temptation of overeating! All in all, a great choice anytime. We'll be back and soon.
Avoid this Place at All Costs! – After a long trip back from the east coast yesterday, my fiance and I decided to have lunch at Arunee House before going to Trader Joe's. We had been there before on 2 different occasions, and had "so-so" meals, but decided to try a 3rd time. Our lunch was horrific! We ordered the Curry Beef with Green Beans and there were so many green beans that they should have advertised it as a vegetable dish as there was hardly any beef. The curry sauce was very salty and more like a thin bland marinade than a sauce. We also ordered a bowl of Tom Yum Gai soup, which must to our disappointment was very bland, with no tart and flavor like other Thai hot & sour soups. We were also amazed that they watered down their chili sauce (Sambal) to the point where it looked like water with a few chili flakes. I can't stand it when a restaurant cuts corners like that! Give us our chili sauce! The icing on the cake was when we were eating, the delivery man who works for the restaurant was waiting for an order near the kitchen and continuously picked his nose, wiped his hands on his pants, then left with a bag of food to deliver to some unsuspecting diner. GROSS! We will never go back!
Great delivery, large portions, under $10 – I ordered two dishes, the curry fried rice with chicken and the spicy noodles. The delivery guy showed up 20 minutes later with my piping hot food.
If you are going to order from here order the curry fried rice, it should be the law. The noodles were good, plenty of meat, but a little greasy for me. Maybe it was just the sauce, but I felt guilty after five bites.
Their hook with me is the delivery until 11pm. I will try other Thai places before I come back, but it is definitely a good restaurant.
Best food anywhere. – Arunee Thai is the best Restaurant anywhere. It is worth the money. We are satified for what we spent. Especially the Curry fried rice with chicken is the wonderful recipe of Arunee. Indians will like it as it is spicy and tasty like Indian Biryani. Chicken satay is also good . Would be great if they increase the quantity of Satay and Fried shrimp. Because if we order Fried shrimp ,only 4 pieces are Shrimp remaining being potatoes and carrots.
Editorial Review – Serves up authentic Thai-Chinese dishes in a comfortable setting.
Odd but good food – The pink decor is your first clue that you're not in your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. I suppose it's more of a Thai place than Chinese, but either way they have both. They serve you what would seem to be a chinese/thai equivalent of chips and salsa: thick strips of crispy noodles and sweet and sour sauce. Their Tom Yum soup is good but their pad thai was a bit greasy. The tofu noodle dish was pretty good; they have a good vegetarian selection. I've been here a few times but mostly for lunch. There is very little street parking.
I will break the tie. – I am a regular customer of Arunee House. The staff, if they get to know you, they are real friendly. The dishes are delicious. The place remind me of my vacation in Koh Samui two years ago. One advise. Don't park in Trader's Joe parking lot. They do tow.
What's this guy talking about???? – My girlfriend and I had lunch at Arunee and it was an excellent experience all around. Service was fine, food was excellent and nicely presented. As far as I'm concerned, this restaurant will be tough to beat unless you're prepared to spend a ton of money.
Terrible! – I went to this restaurant twice. And twice I was dissapointed. The food was okay, and by okay I mean very average. The service, however, was horrendous...not once, but twice. I couldn't believe how incredibly rude EVERYONE that worked there was. My whole group left very unsatisfied. It was an incredibly negative experience.
