Not the best food – The staff there is great, friendly and helpful. The food is not so great. I have had good bulgogi and this place doesn't do it right. I don't know if they don't marinate overnight or what. Also every time I get the beef dishes there it's like they don't know the cuts of beef. It's always full of fat and tendon. Rarely a nice cut of beef. I don't know about you but i prefer not to get a bit of beef and a load of tendon and fat. The salad they serve with the entree was brown and not fresh either.
Well, The parking is under the restaurant so you pretty much has a convenience palce there w. no charge.
The service was OK. The food were good but seemed to be a little $2-$4more than somewhere else, because of the location? The side dishes were not much even though for three of us.
I was mistaken to be a mother of a small cousin I went w. and was apologized w. a green scallion side dish..hah...
Shilla gives Korean food a bad name. – GROSS! Kimchee is soggy and days past it's prime, and the meat portions are rediculously small. I live close by and love Korean food so I have given Shilla a few chances. The quality of the food has gone down hill even in the few months I have been going. If you order bi bim bop like I did today you get less than a half ounce of meat that is dried out and not up to standards. There are lots of great Korean resturants north and south of the city. I am surprised that Uwajimaya would give space to such a terrible resturant in their other wise first class establishment.
Excellent Korean food. Very authentic. – Took my parents here when they came to visit (they're first-gereration Koreans) and they were very impressed by the food. We got a variety of items to share and everything was excellent. Entres come with a good assortment of side dishes - kim chee, kim chee-pickled radish, sesame oil-marinated spinach, etc., so whether you're with a group of people or by yourself, this place is a good value. Table-top boilers are available in the booths and the large windows provide a nice view of the city. The ambiance is comfortable (not extravagant), the atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was friendly. Also, free parking is available, which is bonus. They were a bit slow to greet and seat, but the experience was well worth the wait.
not worth your money – My friend and I decided to try their grilled seafood plate on their picture menu a month ago for ~$8. The presentation and food looked really nice in the picture. After we got our food in a styrofoam box and opened it, it contained some onions, green onions, a few small pieces of squid, a few small shrimp, and a couple of small scallops stir fried with some dark soy sauce, which had little or no flavor. It was one of the worst korean food we've ever had. My friend wouldn't touch it, i had to eat it so that it wouldn't go to waste. She complained, but they didn't say or do anything.
