Now a very disappointing Indian Cuisine. Prime downtown location with disappointing service and food. I came to Davis for a short visit and decided to visit this place after it just revamped its management and food service apparently. It took them an hour to bring 2/3 of the appetizers! And when the main course finally arrived after 4 glasses of water- one was missing and was not given to us until 25 mins later. Horrible waitress! The waitor working there was far better than she was and waited on us because he saw how frustrated we were. We're never going out to that place again.
Horrible service. My husband made reservations at the restaurant for my birthday. Our reservation was at 9pm (Friday) and the restaurant closes at 10 pm (posted on the door). We got there at 9:08pm and was told the restaurant was closed (there were very few people left in the restaurant). Enough said.
Worst restaurant experience ever. My husband and I eat out quite a bit and were excited to try Sogas in Davis as we had heard good things. Unfortunately, nothing we ordered was good or even acceptable quality. The bread was cold, as was the butter, which made it impossible to spread. The Caesar salad dressing was extremely fishy, and the croutons were stale. The chicken special arrived raw in the middle, as did the steak which was supposed to be medium rare (it was cold and red). The waitress and manager didnt seem too concerned about it, but the manager did let us pay only for our wine and salad and leave (even with more cooking we just didnt trust the food by that point and neither of us have ever walked out of a restaurant before, it was THAT bad). Very disappointing.
BEST IN DAVIS. This is by far the best resteraunt in Davis. Great for some drinks after work or before going out. Great for a Romantic meal. Great food and great atmosphere. Would highly reccomend. Overall Excellent!!!!
coffeegirlkristen. Always my 1st choice for a special date. We have sent friends and parents who were very happy with thier experience. (my dad is a very fussy diner) Definitely try the Roasted Garlic appetizer served with toasted flat bread, and dried fruit chutney. Another favorite is the Warm Duck Salad with Sherry vinaigrette. They serve great Mojito's and wine flights. Try sitting at the bar and eating appetizers.
Best Restaurant in DAVIS. I have been to Soga's on many occasions, and have always found the food to be excellent! There are fancier places, to be sure, but you can count on Soga's to give you a great dining experience.
