DO NOT GO THERE!! – This place is a joke!! The aquarium is so small you are done with it in 10 minutes, but the most appaling part is the Tiger exhibit - this poor animal lives only INDOORS in a small room with no grass and nothing remotely that mimics the natural habitat. It is pitiful to see this animal in there - I will never return to this place and will advice everyone against visiting this place. If you want to see a nice aquarium I suggest you go to Moody Gardens in Galveston. Do not go there and support this animal cruelty!!
The worst eafood in Houston – Ore shrimp was frozen not seasond and thrown into a fryer. We requested fried shrimp and coconut shrimp. The waiter brought fried shrimp and the WORST tasting thing wrapped in bacon. He was so rude that we decided it would not be in our best interest to mention it since he would need to bring the coconut shrimp to us and we were afaid of what he might "add" to our food. At the end of the meal ( we left most of it and ate bread) we told our waiter it was awful. He said" yeah I hear that all the time. We were charged for the meal. No manager cam to speak to us. BUY a ticket go see the fish, ride the rides DO NOT EAT HERE!!
Watch out for hidden special event fees! – We made reservations for Easter Brunch. We were told the cost was $34.95 pp, and that was fine. BUT when we got there, we were told that there was a $6.99 pp "Easter Service Charge" added to each person's cost. So it ended up costing us more than we budgeted for. The waitress seemed mad that she had to work on the holiday, we found it strange that our table was a table for 6 that had 4 chairs removed (we were a party of 2, so we had to drag our chairs around to be close to each other). The desserts were GREAT and we thought the kids' buffet (kids choices, buffet lowered so kids could reach it) was a cute idea. We'll look for somewhere else to go next year, but this was OK. Just OK.
You've got to be kidding me. . . . – It is a cool atmosphere - I will give them that. The exhibit is very nicely done. The food and service - that is laughable. The food is horribly overpriced for the quality. Terrible food. The white bengal tiger exhibit - I can't think of anything more cruel. It is terrible what that tiger has to be in - no trees and no grass and very little room to run or roam around. It is animal cruelty in the worst form. I will never go back there again just for that part of it more than anything else.
R u kidding – Worst service ever food
was way below standard, I will never return.
It was worse that expected – The aquariums are really cool, but the rest of the decor is fairly cheesy. The menu was limited. I had a lot of trouble actually finding something I wanted to eat. Considering this is a Landry's restuarant, I was expecting the food to be bad, but it was aweful, especially for $30. The only flavor on my broiled seafood platter was butter. On a side note, the waiter offfered us hot french bread, which I guess to some people means cold sourdough.
Not so good..in fact, quite bad actually – We were there for less than 15 minutes, and then were off to the Art Museum so the trip downtown wasn't a total waste. IIf you'd consider the Rainforest Cafe (restaurant) as being similar to a "Zoo", then this might be right for you. For us, it was a poor choice and a waste of $.
We had an excellent time! – I decided to host my daughters 4th birthday party at the aquarium because my sister's employer was having a discount day. This made it affordable for me, but I was afraid it was going to be really crowded, however it was not. First of all, when I arrived at the aquarium, I turned too soon, and ended up getting lost. I called the restaurant, and someone stayed on the phone with me talking me through each turn until I finally found my way back to the restaurant. I had reserved space for about 30 people, and brought my own cake and decorations. The staff were very accomodating by storing the cake in the back until we were ready for it, providing plenty of plates, a knife, and a lighter. They even blew up a few balloons for me. The fried fish was not so great. It tasted as if it was probably fried in old grease, but the experience more than made up for it. We were on the 2nd floor of the restaurant, and it was not crowded at all, so the girls were able to run around and be fairly loud without disturbing anyone. We were also very impressed with all of the fish, turtles, snakes, alligators, and especially the white tigers. My daughter was able to get her face paited outside, and really enjoyed riding the train through the shark voyage. The girls were able to ride the carousel twice without having to wait in line again. My daughter is still talking about it and says she wants to go back. I would definitely recommend it.
Will never recommend – bad food, overpriced mother's day buffet! i think there is a hidden charge that goes with overpriced food to see the aquarium. they should have charged only 10$ per head for the food which was really bad! Will never return nor recommend to my out of town friends. fearless forecast: this restaurant will not last long.
overpriced like crazy – very overprcied. aquarium is bad. foods ok, but very overpriced for the quality. the restaurant looks like childrens restaurant. all fake...
