Racism – They declined entrance to me and my friend. We are both mexican. They told us that they had no coat check, and since we were wearing winter coats, we couldnt come in. However they were letting all the white patrons in, with their baggy winter jackets.
My friend then asked if it was because we were brown, the idiot ID checker laughed and said "of course not." I would recommend that you never go here.
Worst Place to Go if you're a colored person and you're not dressed skanky! – SO my friends and I are from out of town and we went to visit Minneapolis for a conference. We had some time to waste and decided to check out some bars. We stumbled onto the "DRINK" because a man was soliciting free drinks to passerbys. At first we thought, why not, we should support the guy and he did a cool dance to get our attention. As we edged closer to the "Drink" , we noticed two caucasian men and as soon as they saw us, I had a feeling we would have some difficulties entering. My group consisted of 1 asian female, 1 caucasian male, 1 asian male and a black male. To my surprise, my black male friend was picked out of our crowd due to his "outfit." We all had casual winter clothing on and the only difference was my friend had a black velor warm pants and jacket on. We were not admitted in. But of course the next groups of white caucasian men as well as skanky clothless females were immediately let in.
I mean, I thought racism ended already. We're no longer in the 1950's and there shouldn't be any more discrimination. We felt dehumanized and in total disgust at how people can still hold such ignorance and expect "colored" people to tolerate such an act.
My friend was a better person because he left with the idea of rather reinforcing stereotypes, such as swearing at them, we brushed it off and moved on. AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. People deserve to be treated fairly and "Drink" is not a place you can expect to recieve such a right.
Too many teenagers – This place is a far cry from the Uptown location. Happy hour/lunch time is OK, but the food is overpriced and so are the drinks.
At night, stay out if you are not a pedofile or a teenager. The drinks are really expensive (even their specials are not great) and it is so loud your ears ring when you leave.
No, I'm not 70 years old, but this place is not appropriate for a group of 20 somethings out to dance and have a good time. The dance floor is so crowded with crusty teens that it is impossible to move, and you stick to the floor anyway.
Go somewhere else if you want to talk to the people you are out with, and not get trampled by 18 year olds.
Drink Downtown=Dirty – Drink downtown is overrated. I don't understand why people love going there. It's always way too packed, you can't even move. Half the place is filled with old, dirty creepos that belong in prison or in a nursing home. The drinks are over-priced and the music isn't that great.. There are also a lot of ugly people that go there. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Drink downtown. Drink uptown however, is better. Even though it is packed every weekend, there aren't as many old, dirty men there.
Sip cocktails and reminisce about the Atari days at this retro-themed bar. – In Short
This cool, airy spot is a temple to 1970s and '80s heroes like John Travolta, Sid Vicious, Wonder Woman and the cast of "Dallas." Movie posters and publicity photos cover the walls, providing entertaining conversation pieces for laid-back patrons. Folks drift in after work to make plans for the rest of the evening over cheese curds, nachos, jalapenos and chicken wings, making sure to take the edge of their appetite with a stiff cocktail.
Great rooftop with good drink specials; better service up there than Stellas. Service inside = BAD – If you can't get a table on the roof, don't bother. It's worth the wait. But NOT downstairs (inside), where the service is awful and so is the music.
They have hourly drink specials and a fantastic happy hour upstairs as well. Much better than Stella's (avoid at all costs).
Unfriendly staff!! – I always go to the bar Down Town and never have any problems. I then went to Uptown Drink ( was a fri night) and the staff was so rude. Not knowing that I buy botltes VIP at the DT bar where very rude to me and kicked one of my GF's out for having to loud of shoes when walking up stairs. I then went to talk to the bouncer, and apparently the "manager" was there and I spoke with him. Very rude to me. It was 11:00! Not even close to bar time,my friend had only had 2 drinks.. I will never buy VIP bottles again at either location. He did not appologize. Never again drink.Your losing your flavor in the cities as far as I am concerned.
Great Happy Hour, that's it – Drink is a great place for happy hour (HH) cuz of the half price drinks, tasty flavored matini's , free finger foods and good looking younger people standing around. Downfall is it can get super crowded, shoulder to shoulder. It's hard to talk to people other than the people you are in a group with. Not a pick-up place. Dance floor is small, very small. All computerized DJ system and DJ that never plays requests. Servers are really pretty and also do a super job getting to you when you need them. Never complained about the service! I wouldnt call the bar trendy, just a bunch of young people drinking, standing around, getting their buzz going...
Not Very Nice – Very crowded, you couldn't move for nothing let alone dance. I don't recommend wearing colored contacts as I did and the door guy didn't let me in because I was wearing blue and my ID said my eyes are brown. He was very rude. Once inside, too many people and no place to sit. Bummed because the first time I went I had fun but not ever again. Don't waste your time.
never again – this place is such a "want to be NY bar" type of place, staff is not friendly or nice. atmosphere is anything but nestolgic. if you look different, or not "dressed write" the bounce may make up dress code rules on the spot, had it happen to me once.
