Why Couldn't My Mother Cook Like This?!? – OMG!!! The flavors reminded me of a little place back in Italy... the only difference was I didn't have to spend thousands to go to that little place. It was cozy, and the wait staff were made us feel comfortable and like recently reunited family. I ordered Saltimbocca alla Romana -- all I can say is MMMMMmmmm soooo wonderful! My date ordered and inhailed Pollo ai Carciofi. I highly recommend going to Pesto.

FANTASTIC!!!!! – Phenomenal food. It matches the best Italian restaurant in Italy....nothing more to say. This is the best Italian restaurant I've been to in North America.

Great food and Great for Groups!!! – I reserved their private room for my 21st birthday. It was so great to have the room all to ourselves and know no one else was waiting for our tables and to have the privacy. In addition, we had our own bathroom and place to put our coats. I brought a few bottles of wine and there was no corking/re-corking fee. The food was amazing!! Everyone in my group of 17 people loved their dishes. Our waiters even catered to the requests of my friends who wanted shot glasses for the vodka they had brought because they wanted to do shots for my birthday. I brought my own cake. They brought it out with candles, and then took it back to cut it into pieces and bring it out to everyone. However, be aware of an appetizer sharing fee. Overall, perfect experience!!! Would highly recommend to anyone for large groups and/or special occasions.

The only real Italian Restaurant in Philly (...so far) – Philly has more FAKE Italian restaurants than any other major city in States. Sorry folks, but Italian cuisine is more than a last name ending in a vowel or sprinkling balsamic vinaigrette on a plate ....Then we accidentally come across Pesto and found the real flavours of the Italian cuisine. Wonder why, the chef (and owner) came out of the kitchen to meet us.... we discovered he taught in a culinary school for 12 years and - wonder why - is Italian 100%. (finally somebody to talk to in Italian! ). This place is simply fantastic, a real oasis if you want to have real food. Inside it's simple and clean. The service is good, but, most importantly, you 'll find Italian food.

A decent meal – We went to Pesto before a show last Friday. The service was very good and attentive and the eggplant appetizer we ordered was very good. Entrees were far from amazing though. I ordered the special "veal chop with porcini mushroom sauce". The chop had very little meat on it and while it looked big the volume was spinach and not actual meat. The porcini's were actually canned mushrooms which was very disappointing as I do not even use those at home. I was okay with this until I found out this dish was 35 dollars, almost half of our whole bill.

Everything else was good and we were happy with the meal overall. I guess my suggestion would be to stick to the menu so you know what you are paying for and avoid the mushrooms!

Excellent Service – I enjoyed this restaurant. I had a large party of 10 and we had the back room which was private and that was great. The downside was that they charge $5 for sharing entrees. Usually I like to share a bunch of appetizers and entrees when I'm with a big group, but because of the sharing fee, we didn't get to try that much appetizers. I loved the calamari there though. Entrees were smaller than I expected but it was great.

Great Experience – I stopped in to grab a bite with my wife and another couple before an event downtown. The atmosphere was the first thing that let me know this would be a good experience. It was elegent, not too over done, and made you feel comfortable. The service was perfect - the waiter didn't spend time at the table unless there was a need. Finally, the food was excellent. I had a veal dish that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The others in our group were equally happy with the atmosphere, service and food.

If you are on Broad and thinking about Italian food, you have to give this place a try.

Best on South Broad Street – My favorite restaurant! Very attentive and accomadating wait staff. Beautiful atmosphere. Food is fresh and brought to table hot. Every dish was superb. This time of the year presented several pumpkin dishes which were excellent, especially, the pumpkin gnocchi and pumpkin gelato for dessert. I can't say enough. I want to go back every day and try everything.

Great service - Great Food - Plenty of free parking – Just moved into the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try based on the reviews here. What a great experience. The service is amazing. They truly make you feel like youre being served by a family member. The owners young daughter, who is 9 years old, and works as a servers assistant, is better then most waiters at any given restaurant, and works harder. She made sure our water was full, bussed our table when we were done with a dish. The ran down the dessert menu and took our order. Recommended her Dads home made Gelati, which was heavenly. She even and made our cappuccinos, which was one of the best cappuccinos Ive ever tasted. The owners wife came by our table and chatted with us for a bit and made sure we were happy.

The food was great too. The special list was almost overwhelming. There were so many I cant believe the waiter remembered them all. By the time he was done going through them I was dizzy trying to remember each one and decide what I wanted. They should really print up a daily special sheet to accompany the menu, there were so many. Each one sounded great. I had a NY Strip stuffed with crabmeat covered in mushrooms and onion and cheese finished in a mushroom demi-glaze. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered off the regular menu, a pasta dish with clams, mussels and shrimp in a red sauce. It was also excellent and the shellfish was really fresh and delicious. Plenty of parking nearby or right in the middle of Broad street!

We will definitely be going back and bringing friends and family with us. Highly Recommended.
